As you might have seen, Norwich's form caught quite a few of us BBC reporters by surprise, having not exactly tipped the Canaries to succeed this season.

You won't find any flies on Aitor Karanka though, as the Nottingham Forest boss isn't shocked by their form.

He reckons he knows the secret to their success too...

"They have been working together for a while," Karanka told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"When you have the squad they have, and the money they have, it's not difficult to find a solution."

Not sure how many Canaries fans will agree with the money-spending bit, but continuity and faith in Daniel Farke must be a factor.

Tony Mowbray already has the scalp of Leeds United on his record this season, when his Blackburn side dished up the Whites' first away loss of the campaign back in October.

The Teessider has assembled a Rovers side in his own mould; hard to beat, rugged and tough. But they can play too, as class acts like Bradley Dack and Harrison Reed show.

"It's no different to going to Stoke, or wherever else we've been," Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"It's big clubs, big teams and the league we're in and we're competing pretty well. We should embrace it - enjoy it not and fear it."

  3. Feliz Navidad for Bielsapublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2018

It will certainly have been a 'Feliz Navidad' in the Marcelo Bielsa household, where the high-pressing style has taken his Leeds side to the Christmas number one spot in the Championship.

Sunday's 3-2 comeback win against Aston Villa was their sixth win in a row, leapfrogging the Whites over Norwich at the summit.

However, you won't find Marcelo getting carried away with the sherry just yet.

"We still have to play the same number of games," the Argentine said in the aftermath of the Villa win. "In football, you can't make any provision for what happens next. We will just try to win the games one by one, when they come."
