Tony: Think Lookman is unlucky not to get a start against Cardiff. Walcott hasn't been his best these past few games and Lookman would bring a different dimension to the side

Laurent: I am happy that Darmian starts a game. He is a good fullback and he has a chance to shine today

Tony Bellew is out on the pitch at Goodison before kick-off to thank the fans for their support during his career. The 35-year-old retired from boxing this week.

I for one will never forget his bout against Adonis Creed on this very ground.

Contrasting emotions here at Craven Cottage in the build-up to kick-off.

Fulham are at the start of a new era following the appointment of Claudio Ranieri in succession to Slavisa Jokanovic while Southampton manager Mark Hughes will be hoping to avoid the result that could move him closer to the other end of the scale.

Scott Parker remains on the Fulham coaching staff and he has been in very animated discussion with their players as they warm up.

Lewis Dunk has been a real slow burner, 27, quite late in this day and age to make your England debut. He is almost ‘Mr Block’ for Brighton, the amount of blocks and interceptions he gets is quite outstanding.

Whether he is at England international level, he is a little bit short (of that) perhaps. Against USA he had a little bit of a problem with his passing, are Brighton noted for that? Probably not.

Brighton v Leicester City (15:00 GMT)

The goalscoring exploits of 43-year-old Jamie Cureton have attracted plenty of attention this week, and it got me thinking who of the current Premier League forwards might be doing the same in non-league football when they reach their forties.

Fitness permitting, two candidates will be on opposing sides at the Amex on Saturday: Brighton's Glenn Murray, who recently signed a one-year contract extension, and Leicester's Jamie Vardy.

Murray, at 35 the elder of the pair by four years, has six goals this season, while Vardy hasn't scored in his last five appearances.

It's daft to say the hopes of their respective teams rest solely on their performances, but a goal from either would be a huge help in what could be a very tight contest.

Everton boss Marco Silva names an unchanged line-up from the side that drew against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago.

That means Yerry Mina keeps his place in the centre of defence despite Kurt Zouma being available again after he was ineligible against his parent club.

Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andre Gomes are also fit to keep their places despite withdrawing from their respective national sides during the international break through injury.

Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne, Gueye, Gomes, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Richarlison.

Cardiff make one change from the side that beat Brighton last time out as they look to secure consecutive top-flight victories for the first time since April 1962.

Harry Arter is available again after suspension and comes straight back into the starting line-up in place of Josh Murphy, who drops to the bench.

Cardiff XI: Etheridge, Morrison, Manga, Arter, Ralls, Paterson, Gunnarsson, Cunningham, Camarasa, Bamba, Harris.

    Simon Stone

It is fair to say Matteo Darmian's appearance in the Manchester United starting line-up is something of a surprise.

Firstly, Jose Mourinho said on Friday that club captain Antonio Valencia would start.

Secondly, it is Darmian's first appearance of any description since the opening game of the season.

Indeed, it is only the Italian's seventh Premier League start since the start of last season.

Everton v Cardiff City (15:00 GMT)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

These were two happy camps going into the international break, with both bosses talking of how their teams were improving.

Everton must keep up the momentum that has been built with four wins and just one defeat from their last six Premier League games, and the only way to do that is with another victory.

Winning at home is even more important in the midst of a run of six away fixtures that sees them go to five of the big six. Having already visited three themselves, it's little wonder that Cardiff have only got one away point so far.

Another one here would feel like a win.
