Former England midfielder on Final Score

Jamie Vardy is probably Leicester's only natural goalscorer. The way Vardy plays, he wants the ball over the top but Puel wants to play a bit more football.

If you then take Vardy off, you're going to get a bit of stick from the crowd.

    Willy Boly (73 mins)

It was Wily Bolly's header (off his arm) that ensured that Manchester City had to settle for a point at Molineux earlier this season.

Might the big defender have similarly dented Tottenham's title hopes?

He climbs highest to meet Joao Moutinho's corner and heads powerfully past Hugo Lloris.

No doubt about that one. Seventeen minutes for Tottenham to regain the lead.

    Fulham 0-0 Huddersfield

Jonas Lossl is earning his corn in this second half.

The Huddersfield goalkeeper has to be sharp to keep out Aboubakar Kamara's fierce first-time effort from just inside the area.

    Watford 0-1 Newcastle

Just under 20 minutes to go. Can Newcastle hang on?

Today's games show us the argument against Christmas football in a nutshell. Lots of football to enjoy, yes, but many of the players are simply too tired to perform at their best and the quality suffers.

    Brighton 1-0 Everton

Lovely twinkle-toed soft-shoe-shuffle stuff from Bernard, who beats a couple of Brighton defenders as he comes in off the left.

But his shot at goal is a straight-ahead spank rather than the curling caress that was required.

Iain: Dear Premier League teams, you see that round thing on the ground, yeah? Kick that with those feet things you're standing on into those holey white net things at either end of the grass rectangle & you'll get what's called a goal. Goals are good! Repeat for more goodness.

Leicester give the ball away at the back and Josh Murphy pounces onto it. He has space to drive into, which he does, but his shot from the left is low and comfortable for Kasper Schmeichel.

David Junior Hoilett then fires a smashing shot towards goal but it's deflected by Harry Maguire. It comes out to Murphy on the left and again, Schmeichel saves.

Andy: Just when you think Puel is starting to figure it out he goes and replaces the excellent Albrighton with Ghezzal. The former is inspirational and a true leader, the latter is about as much use as a concrete parachute.

Everton are immediately banging on the Brighton back door in search of a way back into the game.

Richarlison's effort thuds off the post and wide.

Gylfi Sigurdsson is on for Yerry Mina to lend some help up front.

    Brighton 1-0 Everton

    Paul Ince
Former England midfielder on Final Score

It comes off an Everton player. It’s poor defending really. Andre Gomes is just standing there and doesn’t react to the ball.

It’s a great decision by the linesman.

GOAL - Brighton 1-0 Evertonpublished at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2018

    Jurgen Locadia

    Breakthrough! After some deliberation.

Pascal Gross's corner deflects goalwards and into the path of Jurgen Locadia off the shin of Andre Gomes.

Locadia buries it into the roof of the net and, after initially being given offiside, is awarded the goal following a pow-wow between Andrew Madely and his assistant.
