It has only been three weeks since those impressive wins for Leicester over Manchester City and Chelsea, but Claude Puel's team selection for their FA Cup defeat at Newport has left the Foxes boss in the spotlight once again.

Reaching a cup final and finishing eighth in the Premier League wasn't enough for his former employers. A year and a half on from parting company with Puel, Southampton's current aim is to climb out of the bottom three.

Despite dropping into the relegation zone last week, the Saints will be feeling optimistic given both their improved performances under Ralph Hasenhüttl and a return of seven points from his six league games in charge - with three of those matches coming against teams in the top five.

    Mark Lawrenson
    Ex-Liverpool defender

Brighton have got a good home record, which is why I am going for a draw here.

I don't know whether this might be a little bump in the road for Liverpool but, if I am right and they drop points on Saturday, I would also back them to return to winning ways in their home games against Crystal Palace and Leicester before the end of the month.

    Prediction: 1-1

I think they [Huddersfield] have gone. In these head-to-heads they don’t seem to do very well. David Wagner doesn’t seem to be able to find the answers. I doubt very much he’ll lose his job as the owner there is a big fan of his but the players don’t seem to be reacting to him now.

Leicester City have recalled midfielder Harvey Barnes from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion.

The 21-year-old joined the Baggies after signing a four-year contract with Premier League side Leicester in July.

The deal at The Hawthorns was for a full season but had a break clause, which Leicester have decided to exercise.

Barnes has been an ever-present in West Brom's midfield, scoring nine goals in 26 Championship appearances.

  14. 'I believe we have a chance'published at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2019

    Cardiff v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

    Huddersfield Town

No side has survived relegation after collecting 10 points from their opening 21 games.

Defeats by relegation rivals Fulham and Burnley in their past two matches have been hugely damaging. After Saturday's trip to Cardiff, Huddersfield's next four opponents are Manchester City, Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal.

But boss David Wagner remains optimistic.

"I have never had a period before when I lost so many games in a row," he said. "I have negative moments but in general I am part of the solution. Do I sit at home and cry? No. I have to deliver ideas.

"Being the first one to beat the statistics is exciting. We were promoted with negative goal difference. We stayed up with the smallest budget ever in the Premier League.

"I believe we have a chance. That is the truth."
