There is a real sense of relief among the Manchester City fans after that goal. After dominating the opening exchanges, Arsenal had been enjoying an equal amount of possession in the last 10 minutes or so.

That was quality football. Talk about coming off the pace. Arsenal gave them too much time and Sterling knew where the ball was going - to Aguero for a simple tap in from three yards.

    Class. Textbook City.

Raheem Sterling gets the ball on the left and plays it back to Ilkay Gundogan. The midfielder lifts a return pass over the defence to Sterling - and he hits a low first-time cross all the way across goal for Sergio Aguero to tap in at the back post.

Surely the real talking point here is Pep's cable knit coat cardigan with clamshell scarf/snood. Somehow can't see him in a Pulis baseball cap.

Arsenal have only had one shot in this game - their goal. Until now...

Sead Kolasinac has a shot saved and then Lucas Torreira sees an effort blocked in a good move from the Gunners.

Just as well for Man City that Ederson is quick off his line. Alexandre Lacazette plays a wonderful through ball which cuts through City's defence. Against a lot of keepers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would have been in on goal but City's Brazilian comes 10 yards outside his box to clear.

Chris Waddle, who is sat alongside me, thinks Pep Guardiola is happy with the way Manchester City are playing, but I am not so sure.

I have been watching him for a while and I think he looks frustrated that City are not making the most of their openings. He has turned round to his coaching staff on a number of occasions, waving his arms wildly and a few moments ago he stomped back to his seat. He clearly believes City could have been out of sight.

It's end to end, this game has been miles better than Leicester v Man Utd so far. Lucas Torreira concedes a free-kick which City take short.

Allen hind: No Liverpool supporters believe that Arsenal scoring will make a difference to the result. Just hope that it does.

Big Gray: Emery going for the sponge formation today - Soaking it all up.

Dave Bookham:As good as City are going forward, they’re not very good at the back. How much have they spent on defenders?????

Matteo Guendouzi is some talent for Arsenal. He wins the ball from Kevin de Bruyne and carries the ball 60 yards, starting a Gunners attack which ends with Alex Iwobi's poor driven cross.

Manchester City still dominating possession but Arsenal's equaliser has changed the mood. City's fans are a little more edgy and Pep Guardiola is more animated.

Arsenal are also having one or two moments of threat themselves. Interesting stuff.

Wahey. City win possession as an Arsenal clearance hits referee Martin Atkinson. It finds its way to Kevin de Bruyne, but his half-volley from distance is well over.

When City were getting into areas in the first half of the season, they were ruthless. In the second half, it seems they need 10 chances on goal to make it work for them.
