Wasted chance for City. First David Silva gets his pass to Raheem Sterling less than perfect and Sterling is forced out wide rather than in on goal. Then he crosses to Sergio Aguero, who leaves it thinking Bernardo Silva is behind him. He wasn't.

Ronny: We all know what happened when City took the lead against Crystal Palace, Leceister and Newcastle United. And now Arsenal. Good omen for Reds.

LesNaugues Perceus: Huge cheers on Merseyside for the Arsenal goal, subdued applause from Wembley.

Pamela Smith: Who else feels Arsenal's goal wouldn't make an impact in this game?

Understandably Liverpool fans will be happy if it stays like this but does anyone agree with Pamela?

Corner to Man City as Aymeric Laporte looks for David Silva but Shkodran Mustafi puts it behind.

I have just heard the Arsenal fans for the first time this afternoon. That goal was the first occasion they have had to cheer in this game. Arsenal could have been 3-0 down. We have a game on our hands now.

Kevin de Bruyne lifts a cross into the box... but it's over Raheem Sterling's head. Not really the man you want on the end of a lofted cross.

David Silva brings down Lucas Torreira on the halfway line. Had this been in the early game, Mike Dean would have booked him. But it's just a free.

Great delivery. Well-worked corner and it's a spot on flick-on at the near post and Koscielny can't miss from two yards.

GOAL - Man City 1-1 Arsenalpublished at 11 mins

    Laurent Koscielny

    Football, eh?

Arsenal are level with their first attack. Kyle Walker concedes a corner, which Lucas Torreira takes. Nacho Monreal flicks the ball on with his head and Laurent Koscielny heads home unmarked from two yards out. Zonal defending did not work there.

The trap worked and it was a great ball in but Laporte was well offside.

  14. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 9 mins

    Man City 1-0 Arsenal

City think they have their second goal as Aymeric Laporte heads home from Kevin de Bruyne's right-wing free-kick but the offside flag goes up correctly. The Gunners are a shambles so far.

  15. Man City make lightning startpublished at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February 2019

    Man City 1-0 Arsenal

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City have come out like a side wounded by that shock midweek loss at Newcastle United and Arsenal are feeling the full force of the early assault.

Arsenal need to survive the storm without any further early damage otherwise this will be a very long 90 minutes. The Gunners currently look shell-shocked.

Raheem Sterling up against Stephan Lichtsteiner could be interesting today. I'd tried to say that in my first entry of the game but then Sergio Aguero scored.

I was looking at Arsenal coach Unai Emery just after that goal went in. His hands went straight into his pockets as he starred on in disbelief. He took a few moments to gather his thoughts before applauding his players. He obviously wasn’t applauding their defending however.

  19. Postpublished at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February 2019

Sergio Aguero has now scored the two fastest Premier League goals this season - both in the past week. His opener in the Newcastle defeat was after 24 seconds.

  20. Postpublished at 5 mins

This could get very messy. Arsenal half clear and Raheem Sterling blasts in a 20-yard shot which Bernd Leno punches away.
