Stew: What a game! Tom Heaton is the best keeper to ever play for us! Wood's goal was amazing. Let's hope we keep this up.

Tom Heaton has carried on where he left off. He was unfortunate to get injured as he'd just entered the England picture but he looks just as sharp as ever.

It's been a dramatic day in the Premier League as Cardiff clambered out of the relegation zone and Manchester United moved into the Champions League places.

Brighton have had more efforts on goal than Burnley and, particularly in the final few minutes of the half, really went close to levelling matters.

They'll have to hope Tom Heaton turns it down a notch in the second period.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    Brighton 0-1 Burnley

Burnley have a priceless lead at the break.

  8. CLOSE!published at 45 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Burnley

Brighton are turning the screw here but the Burnley defence is in typically stubborn mood.

Shane Duffy rises powerfully to meet Pascal Groβ's right-wing corner.

It finally beats Heaton but Jeff Hendrick is stood on the post - what a good place to stand - and he scrambles it away.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 42 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Burnley

Get this guy in the England team.

Tom Heaton once again comes to Burnley's rescue with an outstanding save.

Jurgen Locadia's cross skims off the head of James Tarkowski and Pascal Groβ tries to hook it back over the head of Heaton from a tight angle.

The Burnley keeper though has other ideas, stretching up quite brilliantly to claw it away and out for a corner.

  10. CLOSE!published at 38 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Burnley

Solly March does superbly down the right hand side to wriggle free of Charlie Taylor.

He cuts it back and Pascal Groβ has a clear shot at goal.

He hits it well but Phil Bardsley throws his body across and blocks it away.

Ashley Barnes is a pest at times and he proves it again there. He picks the pocket of his marker and fires in a shot from distance.

Straight down Mat Ryan's throat though.

    Brighton 0-1 Burnley

Lovely free-flowing move from Burnley almost brings a second.

Chris Wood holds it up well on the right, he lays inside to Jeff Hendrick and his pass sets up Phil Bardsley who has got forward positively for Burnley.

Fortunately for Brighton, his shot is tame and Mat Ryan makes a comfortable save.

    Brighton 0-1 Burnley

That's Chris Wood's sixth goal against Brighton.

The only team he's scored more against is Huddersfield.

Those nine goals he notched on loan at the Seagulls back in 2010/11 probably seem an awful long time ago right now.

GOAL - Chris Woodpublished at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    Brighton 0-1 Burnley

    Bang.

Chris Wood capitalises on Tom Heaton's excellence at the other end with a fine finish for the Clarets.

Ashley Barnes picks out his strike partner with a clip over the top of the Brighton backline, Lewis Dunk slips allows Wood a huge amount of time and the former Brighton loanee buries it high past Mat Ryan.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 25 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Burnley

    Take a bow, Tom Heaton.

Brighton break quickly through Jurgen Locadia who shows good composure to pick out Solly March 12 yards out. The midfielder cuts inside onto his left and unleashes a fierce drive but Heaton once again is equal, sticking out a booming right hand to keep it out.

  17. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Burnley

A long ball forward picks out Ashley Barnes in oceans of space down the left once more for Burnley. He swings a dangerous cross just in front of strike partner Chris Wood who can't reach it on the stretch.

    That was far too easy.

  18. HITS THE WOODWORK (twice)published at 17 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Burnley

Somehow Burnley are not in front.

Dwight McNeil makes some space on the left hand side of the box and fires in a low shot. Shane Duffy, who once scored two own goals in the same game for Blackburn Rovers, sticks out a leg and it cannons up onto the crossbar.

With Mat Ryan on the floor, Ashley Barnes only needs to nod the rebound into the back of the net but he can't get over it and his header clips the top of the bar and bounces over.

    What an escape for Brighton.

  19. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Burnley

Bit of a lull in the action here.

Brighton are looking to play intricately on the floor while Burnley are keen to keep things nice and tight at the back. With Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes up front though, they do pose plenty of threat when they get it forward.
