    Brighton v Burnley (17:30 GMT)

There has been just one goal scored in the three previous Premier League clashes between Brighton and Burnley and Brighton haven't scored in any of them...

...but I'm an optimist so I'm holding out for goals today.

Wednesday's FA Cup win at West Brom provided a much-needed boost for Brighton, who have yet to win in the league since the turn of the year.

They're on a disappointing run of one win in 10 league matches. Last Saturday, they came up against an in-form Ben Foster and had to settle for a goalless draw against Watford.

This week brings another in-form goalkeeper to the south coast, with Tom Heaton impressive for Burnley of late.

The Clarets have picked up markedly and are unbeaten in six matches since his return to the first team, their best league run for 10 months.

When these sides met back in December, struggling Burnley earned their first win in nine league games thanks to James Tarkowski's rather fortunate winner.

The commanding centre-back deceived Brighton keeper Mat Ryan by chesting home Jack Cork's shot from close range.

The win lifted the Clarets out of the relegation zone but they were 11 points behind Brighton at that stage.

A victory tonight would take them within three points of their hosts.

Ex-Brighton striker Ashley Barnes scored Burnley's first penalty in 67 Premier League games last weekend to rescue a point against fellow strugglers Southampton.

He's now top scorer for the Clarets with six goals this season.

How he'd love to add to that tally on his return to Brighton this evening.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche:"The last run of six league games has shown a more consistent level of our identity, with performances and points.

"The nature of what we've been known for - of going all the way down the line for games with our last breath - was paid back [and] I've been pleased with that.

"Individually and collectively, there's been some really good performances."

Brighton have lent heavily on 35-year-old striker Glenn Murray this season.

They kept him on the bench for their FA Cup replay in midweek but their top goalscorer joined the action in extra time and duly scored twice to send them into the next round.

They're going to need to keep him fit and firing to stave off any relegation fears.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton: "I'm expecting a tight game... the levels of the two clubs and the two teams have been relatively similar over the last seasons.

"They, of course, had an outstanding season last season and [that is] testament to them, certainly with the budgets and what they have as regards the squad and the amount of players in the squad."

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Brighton are into the last 16 of the FA Cup after beating West Brom on Wednesday night, but they are on a poor run in the league.

Burnley, in contrast, have kept on picking up points in recent weeks. They are another team who are still unbeaten in the league in 2019 and, after drawing their past three games, I just have a sneaky feeling they will go to the Amex Stadium and win.

It has got the makings of a tight game, because I don't think either side will give very much away, but Burnley are in better form so I would back them to edge it.

    Lawro's prediction: 0-1

    A Private War's Jamie Dornan and Paul Conroy's prediction:1-1

    Brighton v Burnley (17:30 GMT)

Brighton have only picked up one win out of their last 10 Premier League games whereas Burnley are unbeaten in six.

It's the second-longest unbeaten run in the division at the moment (behind Solskjaer's Man Utd).

Brighton however have got five of their seven wins this season at the Amex. Can they turn the formbook on its head this evening?

Cardiff's dramatic win at Southampton earlier dumps Burnley back into the relegation zone despite their fine recent run.

It also squeezes up the bottom half of the table and leaves Brighton looking nervously over their shoulders.

Brighton make one change from the side that drew 0-0 at home to Watford last weekend.

Dale Stephens returns to the team in place of Yves Bissouma which means it is a completely different line-up from the one that started at West Brom in the FA Cup.

Brighton XI: Ryan, Bong, Duffy, Dunk, Stephens, Locadia, Groβ, Murray, March, Montoya, Propper.

Subs: Button, Kayal, Bissouma, Knockaert, Jahanbakhsh, Bernardo, Burn.

Sean Dyche has kept with the same team that earned Burnley a late point against Southampton.

Ashley Barnes returns to his old club with Peter Crouch waiting on the bench if needed.

Burnley XI: Heaton, Taylor, Cork, Tarkowski, Mee, Barnes, Wood, Hendrick, Westwood, Bardsley, McNeil.

Subs: Hart, Lowton, Gibson, Crouch, Ward, Vydra, Long.
