If Spurs win they'll go level with Manchester City on games played and just two points behind. That just goes to show the level Spurs are at at the moment considering the injuries and the squad they've got.

Mauricio Pochettino is getting every ounce out of these players and he's praised them in today's programme notes. It'll need to be the same again today for what will be a tough game against Leicester.

More often than not, the player does come out worse. Jamie Vardy is passionate and wears his heart on his sleeve. If he believes something's not right he's going to speak his mind and he's got every right to do so, but I do like the fact that, if things have been said, it hasn't come out. It's all been kept in house.

Leicester have won eight of the 18 league games Jamie Vardy has started this season (44%), compared to just one of the seven games he has not (14%).

By the way, we're not sure if you managed catch this, but Ipswich boss Paul Lambert (ex of Norwich) has been sent off after his involvement in an almighty scrap in the East Anglian derby.

It was a sight to behold, for obviously the wrong reasons.

  9. 'Tottenham remain in the title race'published at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2019

    Tottenham v Leicester (13:30 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton
    Match of the Day commentator

Spurs beat Leicester 5-4 in the final game of last season, which at the time seemed a fitting way to bring down the curtain on their time at Wembley as they headed to their new home. Yet nine months later they're still there.

Those frustrations aside, they remain very much in the title race, and if they'd earned as many points at Wembley as they have on the road, Tottenham would be top of the table.

This is the final game of a tough trio for Leicester in which they've drawn with Liverpool and lost narrowly to Manchester United.

  10. 'Pochettino will collect another three points here'published at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2019

    Tottenham v Leicester (13:30 GMT)

Leicester created enough chances to get something out of their game with Manchester United, but the point they got against Liverpool last week is the only thing they have to show from their past five games in all competitions.

In contrast, Tottenham just keep on finding a way to win games despite obviously still being without some of their key players.

When you look into why or how they have done it, it all leads back to Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. I think he will collect another three points here.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-1

Those who have been involved in buying and moving homes knows it rarely follows the original schedule.

So it's worth sparing some sympathy for Tottenham, who still don't know when they can unpack the boxes.

Poch now just want to get on with it, despite it might affect his side's momentum.

"My opinion is move... I take the risk and move. I am brave," the Spurs boss said.

"If we can play one or five games, I want to move. If the club or (chairman) Daniel (Levy) ask me on the final decision, my final decision is to move to play there. Today they know I want to move.

"But today is only an opinion. If the moment arrives to make the final decision, it's not a problem. I am going to say yes to move and be responsible and get the blame, it's not a problem."

Tottenham will falter soon. You can’t keep getting away with not having Kane and Alli, I feel the squad is not strong enough in quality. Spurs will be happy they want to go under the radar and push the two big-hitters.

    What do Spurs do?

Focus on their bid for the Premier League title? Or the Champions League? After all luck has been on their side in that competition.

They host German league leaders Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, and in the build-up to today's match manager Mauricio Pochettino suggested he would make tweaks to the starting line-up.

As you can see it's still quite a strong XI, although defender Toby Alderweireld starts from the bench.

He said: "We are going to select the best to try and win.

"For sure maybe we are going to do some changes but to try to win. The most important game now is Sunday and when we finish Sunday it is Wednesday.

"But we are going to try and pick the best starting XI to win (against Leicester) for sure."

  15. Tielemans makes Leicester debut; Vardy on benchpublished at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2019

    Tottenham v Leicester (13:30 GMT)

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino makes three changes to the side that defeated Newcastle last weekend, introducing Danny Rose, Oliver Skipp and Fernando Llorente to the starting line-up.

Toby Alderweireld and Lucas Moura drop to the bench while Erik Lamela misses out altogether.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Sissoko, Winks, Skipp, Eriksen, Son, Llorente

Claude Puel hands 21-year-old Belgian Youri Tielemans his Leicester debut following his loan move from Monaco, as Jamie Vardy drops to the bench for the Foxes.

There's also a starting place for Rachid Ghezzal, with Wilfred Ndidi joining Vardy among the substitutes.

Leicester XI: Schmeichel, Pereira, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell, Mendy, Tielemans, Gray, Maddison, Barnes, Ghezzal

Sticking with Maddison, some of you might have seen the latest gossip, external linking him to a move to Spurs.

He's been one of the few shining lights for the Foxes this season - so understandably, Claude Puel wants him to stay although he's happy there is alleged interest shown in him.

He said: "It's a good feeling because if we play with poor performances and no possibility to develop players then other clubs wouldn't be interested.

"It shows we're developing our players, not just young ones - this is a good thing.

"Of course he is better off here - not just this player. Interest from other clubs means they are showing their quality. But he's still got a lot to learn and room to develop. This is the right place to work."
