  1. Winter break for Toffeespublished at 11:46 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

    Everton

Who said there is no winter break in the Premier League?

For a second successive weekend Everton are without a game.

Having had FA Cup fifth-round weekend off after being knocked out by Millwall in the previous round, the Toffees again have no game this weekend.

Marco Silva's side were due to play Manchester City at home this weekend but that fixture was brought forward and played on 6 February after City reached the Carabao Cup final.

The Toffees, who last played on 9 February, finally return to action on Tuesday when they face Cardiff away (19:45 GMT).

Unsurprisingly, Burnley are unchanged after a fine run of form.

He'll certainly become one if helps the Reds win the league for the first time since 1990.

Van Dijk sat down with Guillem Balague and, in a wide-ranging interview for BBC Radio 5 live, discussed growth spurts, the box set he has watched eight times and getting drunk at Disneyland.

Away from the Premier League for a moment and Stoke City's Jack Butland will wear a special plain green jersey as the club celebrate the life and career of their legendary ex-England goalkeeper Gordon Banks against Aston Villa (15:00 GMT).

World Cup-winner Banks died this month at the age of 81 and fellow England international Butland will wear the strip - which has no badge, sponsor or name.

A club statement said the gesture for the Championship match - Stoke's first home game since Banks died - was a "fitting tribute".

A year ago they were clearing snow off the pitch at Wembley during a Tottenham game as the 'Beast from the East' swept in.

Today, it's practically T-shirt weather at Turf Moor - where two layers of clothing is standard for fans.

Bright sunshine is forecast for the match with temperatures expected to hit 15C.

  11. Kane is an "animal"published at 11:04 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

    Burnley v Tottenham (12:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino has described Harry Kane as an "animal" - I'm guessing he means ferocious and tough like a lion or a leopard rather than soft and cuddly like a puppy or a rabbit.

England captain Kane has missed the last seven games with a damaged ankle but is desperate to play against Burnley.

"Everyone knows that Harry is an animal, he wants to be ready as soon as possible," said the Spurs boss Pochettino.

Is today the day he returns to action?

The Premier League weekend is actually two games old after impressive Watford turned on the style to hammer Cardiff 5-1 and West Ham beat Fulham 3-1 on Friday.

It's looking increasingly desperate for Huddersfield and Fulham, while Burnley will climb to 13th if they beat Spurs.

  14. Tight at the toppublished at 10:54 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

It's so tight at the top - and it could get even tighter if Tottenham win at Burnley in the early kick-off.

If that happens then there will be just two points separating the top three, although Liverpool get the chance to establish a three-point lead at the summit when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

On 23 February last year, Manchester City - 16 points clear at the summit with 11 games left - pretty much had the title in the bag.

This brilliant title race is anything but done and dusted.

We're going to have to wait to find out if Pep Guardiola bags a fourth trophy of his Manchester City reign.

His side's Carabao Cup final with Chelsea is on Sunday - as is the mouth-watering clash between Manchester United and Liverpool which could have huge implications in the title race.

Today, there's important business at both ends of the Premier League.

Tottenham have to win to keep up the pressure on both City and Liverpool at the top, while Huddersfield are involved in a huge relegation six-pointer at Newcastle.

    Here's Saturday's Premier League fixtures:
