The Newcastle fans are loving this. Their team has been bright from the start. The fact that two local youngsters have got their names on the scoresheet has gone down very well with the Geordie faithful.

It's fair to say it's been a slow start to the game between Stoke and Shrewsbury.

Moritz Bauer took a tumble in the Shrewsbury penalty area and wanted a penalty but there's nothing doing. Move on.

I'm impressed with Luton, lots of energy with their diamond formation. It's tight in midfield and they've started bright with Elliot Lee having a couple of shots.

James Justin's pace from left-back is causing Sheffield Wednesday problems here. The 20-year-old wins another corner for the Hatters.

Not the best of set pieces. Young Freddy Woodman in the Newcastle goal is yet to be tested.

After a long passing move Blackburn pump it into and the ball drops to Richie Smallwood on the edge of the box.

He has a pop at goal but it's deflected behind.

Blackburn have got a little better in the last five minutes. They're stringing a few passes together. Newcastle have everyone back behind the ball inside their own half and seem to have it under control.

At Kenilworth Road, Kazenga LuaLua is brought down just outside the Sheffield Wednesday box by Atdhe Nuhiu and the hosts have a free kick in a dangerous area.

Elliot Lee takes it but it goes straight into the Wednesday wall.

Newcastle have another go from distance. This time it's Callum Roberts on his full debut for the Magpies. He snatches at it a little and the ball skews well wide.

First real chance for Sheffield Wednesday. Adam Reach goes on a nice run but shoots wide of the post. The away side would love an early goal against their in-form League One opponents. Luton haven't lost in 14 games in the third tier.

Newcastle's much-changed team has been utterly dominant so far. There's very little pressure on the ball from Blackburn and once a tackle does come in it's a foul on Javier Manquillo.

It has been a quiet start at Kenilworth Road. Elliot Lee has the game's first shot for Luton but it is blocked.

Goalscorer Sean Longstaff played his football on loan at Blackpool last season, when both sides were in League One. He was renowned for his shooting from distance, so you would think his speculative shot did not come as a surprise to Blackburn?
