Dundee winger Calvin Miller and three Dons defenders all fail to provide the touch that could turn it into goal and the ball trundles wide to safety.

    GOAL - Aberdeen 1-0 Dundeepublished at 16mins

    Sam Cosgrove

Aberdeen take the lead and it all comes from Dundee's first corner.

With visiting defender Genseric Kusunga down injured in the Dons penalty area, the home side break clear and, although Cammy Kerr thwarts the first ball into the penalty box, Connor McLennan's cross into the six-yard box finds Sam Cosgrove diving in to head home.

That's the striker's third goal in three games and Aberdeen are off to a flyer.

It is very quiet in the stands at the moment at Pittodrie and former Aberdeen player, manager and director of football Willie Miller tells us it could get quieter.

"Once you can hear the sweetie papers, you know it is a poor game," he suggests.

The first effort on target not surprisingly comes from the home side.

Graeme Shinnie is pulled down 25 yards from goal, but Lewis Ferguson's driven free-kick is straight at Jack Hamilton and it is no problem for the goalkeepeer.

    Aberdeen 0-0 Dundee

Just before kick-off, Dundee manager Jim McIntyre told BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound: “There’s a lot of games in December, so we’ve made a couple of changes tonight.

"We want to come here and get the three points. It’s our game in hand and we want to capitalise on that.

"We know it’s going to be difficult. From our point of view, it’s about leaving with the points."
