Kyle: Love watching Harry Wilson. I think he could take the Premier League by storm with Liverpool next season. If Liverpool aren't going to play him, hopefully they loan him out to a Premier League side. He is going to be some player.

Blackburn Lad: Rovers need 1) A completely new defence, or a big bus...and 2) A new mindset where one goal up doesn't mean you've won the match, think goal difference.

Rovers are goalless with West Bromwich Albion at the moment.

    Nott'm Forest 1-0 Leeds

Rearguard action for Forest as Leeds surge forward and their latest chance saw Ezgjan Alioski head over the bar.

They've been peppering the Forest box with crosses, it's the visitors dictating things.

Kemar Roofe pulls the trigger from the right side of the box, having been played in neatly. Saved by Costel Pantilimon.

    Carved open at the back.

  4. goal

GOAL: Brentford 1-0 Norwichpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2019

    Julian Jeanvier (22 mins)

Brentford break the deadlock at Griffin Park, as French defender Julian Jeanvier heads in from Said Benrahma's left-wing corner.

Meanwhile, Norwich have been forced into an early change, with Marco Stiepermann being forced off through injury. Tom Trybull has come on in his place.

So that's the top two both trailing currently.

Josh Maja's goal has made Sunderland's 8,000 fans at Blackpool very happy - they're keeping up the pressure on League One leaders Portsmouth, who still lead Wimbledon 1-0.

Meanwhile, Lewis O'Brien has put lowly Bradford in front against Accrington at Valley Parade.

In League Two, MK Dons have extended their lead over Cambridge to 3-0.

  6. goal

    Tammy Abraham (21 mins)

John McGinn has just hit the bar, and moments later he sets up Villa's opener.

The Scot curls in a peach of a cross with his left foot from wide on the right and Tammy Abraham is on hand to nod in from about six yards out.

His 15th goal of the season, and that puts Villa up to seventh as things stand.

    Steven Fletcher (18 mins)

Breakthrough for the Owls, who are really enjoying life under caretaker boss Lee Bullen. Who needs a permanent boss?!

Long free-kick played to the edge of the box by Barry Bannan for Wednesday, and Tom Lees got above everyone else to knock the ball into the danger zone.

Steven Fletcher swivels and acrobatically half-volleys the ball into the far corner, beyond the desperate dive of Lee Camp.

    Blackburn 0-0 West Brom

West Brom just starting to impose their quality on Blackburn, after the hosts enjoyed a brighter start.

Harvey Barnes has been their penalty-box pest so far, forcing Charlie Mulgrew into a block, and David Raya saved an earlier effort.

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2019

    Nott'm Forest 1-0 Leeds

Barry Douglas, on the left foot, whips the Leeds free-kick up and over the wall but wide of Costel Pantilimon's right post.

Had a few Forest fans concerned there, it looked like it was swinging in.

Not much more action to report at Pride Park, with Derby ahead through Harry Wilson's 10th goal of the season.

Wilson has had another dig at goal, but his long-range effort flew wide.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2019

    Nott'm Forest 1-0 Leeds

Jack Robinson clumsily bundles into Jack Harrison as he headed for the Forest penalty area, and gets a booking.

    Leeds get a dangerous set-piece...

    Nott'm Forest 1-0 Leeds

There's a real crackle and fizz to the action at the City Ground, as two old foes with histories far richer than their current status go head-to-head.

It took a fine covering tackle from Luke Ayling to stop a marauding Joe Lolley a moment ago, as Forest seek a second. The subsequent corner had Forest fans leaping up, but Claudio Yacob's header brushed the wrong side of the post.

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2019

    Brentford 0-0 Norwich

With Championship leaders Leeds behind, that opens the door for Norwich to draw level.

It has been a fairly quiet start, but Mario Vrancic has shot wide for the Canaries.

At the other end, a Sergi Canos cross from the right looped over the head of Norwich keeper Tim Krul and bounced off the top of the bar.

City striker Teemu Pukki has just had appeals for a penalty turned down.

Blackburn have a quite impressive record in New Year's Day fixtures, having been unbeaten in 42 years on this day...

Tony Mowbray's side have made an aggressive start at Ewood Park against West Brom this afternoon, with Danny Graham twice testing out the defence and goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, but no score just yet.

Plenty of goals in the lower divisions, too!

League One leaders Portsmouth are in front early on against AFC Wimbledon with a Jamal Lowe goal, struggling Scunthorpe and Plymouth are both ahead, while League Two promotion-chasers MK Dons are already 2-0 up against Cambridge.

    Jack Colback (5 mins)

    Wow. Flying start.

Forest clip a ball forward more in hope than expectation and it looks a routine one for Adam Forshaw to deal with.

However, he sells his back-pass to Bailey Peacock-Farrell short and Jack Colback, seemingly in slow-motion, swoops on the loose ball, rounds the keeper and slots into an empty net.

Cool as you like. Forest in front at a raucous City Ground.

    Nott'm Forest 0-0 Leeds

Not good news for Forest fans possibly here as Michael Hefele limps off the field, and he is replaced by Adlene Guedioura.

Bit of a reshuffle for Aitor Karanka to contend with.
