The result leaves Sheffield United four points behind leaders Leeds and three points behind second-placed Norwich City.

It's a good weekend for the Canaries, with both of their closest promotion rivals losing.

In-form Swansea midfielder Leroy Fer tells Sky Sports:

"Over the whole game, we were the better team.

"They're a good side and they're up there so it was a hard game, but we fully deserved it."

So Swansea are only six points off the play-off places and seven points below fourth - things are looking up for the Welsh side.

They're unbeaten in five games in all competitions.

For Sheffield United, it's a frustrating night.

After an eventful seven days, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa insisted not being able to watch Stoke train beforehand had no bearing on the outcome of today's 2-1 defeat by Stoke.

“We can’t say we ignored the features of the opponent, we just didn’t take advantage of the possibilities we had," said the Argentine.

"It was a game that we could have won. We were calm and were not afraid of the offensive aspects of the opponent. But we didn’t have a solution.”

The Blades make their final change, as David McGoldrick is replaced by Leon Clarke up front.

And Swansea's third change sees Nathan Dyer come off to warm applause from the appreciative home fans, while Jay Fulton comes on.

There was little sign of a breakthrough at either end at the Liberty Stadium until a sharp bit of play by Nathan Dyer.

The experienced winger could not get a kick for much of this season, but he is enjoying himself having been recalled by Graham Potter last month.

He brought the ball down neatly on the edge of the area before exchanging passes with Mike van der Hoorn and then rolling in the precise cross which Oli McBurnie steered home.

That is goal number 11 of the season for Swansea’s leading scorer.

If it stays like this, Sheffield United will slip three points adrift of second-placed Norwich City., while Swansea would fly up to ninth - leapfrogging no less than six teams!
