    Swansea 0-0 Sheff Utd

There's a relatively lengthy pause in play as Swansea's medical team treat Mike van der Hoorn after a collision.

It looks like he'll be OK.

    Swansea 0-0 Sheff Utd

The hosts start the night 15th in the Championship under Graham Potter, but they have started on the front foot here.

Victory for Sheffield United, by the way, would move the Blades up to second - just a point behind leaders Leeds.

A touching moment here at the Liberty Stadium as Lenny Johnrose, who is battling motor neurone disease, is introduced to the crowd.

Johnrose, 49, played 44 games for Swansea City in a long professional career in which he also played for the likes of Blackburn, Burnley and Bury.

One of those Swans appearances was on the final day of the 2002-03 season, when Brian Flynn’s side beat Hull City to preserve their Football League status and Johnrose scored a crucial goal.

Walking is becoming increasingly difficult for Johnrose, who was helped off the pitch by former team-mates Leon Britton and Kristian O’Leary.

The opening weekend of the season feels a long, long time ago now - but it was on that day that these two teams last met.

In the summer sunshine at Bramall Lane, recently relegated Swansea came from behind to beat Sheffield United thanks to Yan Dhanda's first goal - from his very first touch - in league football.

That probably doesn't really tell the full story, truth be told.

Swansea are 15th after our 15:00 GMT matches, but victory today would keep them six points off the play-off spots and very much in the mix.

A fifth success in five Championship matches for Sheffield United, meanwhile, would plonk them back in between early pace-setters Leeds United and Norwich City in the table. Yet, rewind 11 months and they were in a similar position after 20 games but then fell away badly to finish 10th.

To conclude, then? Who knows where we'll all end up come what May.

If, before the start of the season, I told you Swansea City against Sheffield United would throw up a contest between one promotion challenger and one mid-table team I doubt you'd have batted an eyelid.

I'm not sure you'd have guessed it'd be this way around, however.

While Chris Wilder's Blades continue to knock on the door of the top two, Graham Potter's Swans are just about as close to relegation as they are the automatic promotion places.

This one should be straightforward, then? Hmmm...

Wilfried Bony is not in the Swansea City squad for this evening’s game against Sheffield United.

The £12m former Manchester City striker is not injured, but loses his place in the Swansea 18, with Oli McBurnie back after illness.

The question now is how many more times Bony will be seen in Swans colours, with the likes of Galatasaray and Qatari side Al-Sadd among a host of clubs who are thought to be showing an interest in the Ivorian.

Bony’s contract at the Liberty Stadium expires this summer.
