Derby got back to winning ways in the Championship with victory over Reading - a result that keeps them in the play-off places.

"We've had a hard group of games over Christmas in the league and today was a home game we wanted to win badly and I think we deserved to win," Rams boss Frank Lampard told BBC Radio Derby.

"It could have been more comfortable, I didn't underestimate this Reading team.

"They're a strong side and they tested us in ways but our football at times was really good."

Swansea take the lead! It's terrific play down the right from Nathan Dyer, who squares the ball across the six-yard box for Oli McBurnie to poke home. That's a really well-worked goal.

    Nathan JonesImage source, Rex Features

Stoke overcame Championship leaders Leeds as Nathan Jones earned his first win as Potters boss.

"There was a bit of pressure on us today against the league leaders who are a wonderful side and are tactically very good but I thought tactically we were too," Jones told BBC Radio Stoke.

"We set a stall out to be defensively strong to not give Leeds anything and we nullified a lot of their strengths.

"The fans were magnificent today and I want them to know that we care about what me and my staff do and I think they saw that today.

"I'm really delighted because we needed that, I've never lost three games on the trot as a manager and I didn't want to start now. It's a nice little platform for us to move on from."

  13. CLOSE!published at 51 mins

Matt Grimes curls the free-kick up, over the wall and just over the bar with his left foot, hitting the roof of the net. That wasn't too far away at all.

  14. Postpublished at 50 mins

A good spell for Swansea culminates with Leroy Fer winning them a free-kick on the edge of the penalty area.

  15. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Sheff Utd

I'd love to tell you this is an exciting game, but I can't. There's been lots of nice, neat play and well-organised defending... The sort of stuff coaches might admire during an analysis session, perhaps.

But it's not made for thrilling entertainment. Yet...

    Tammy AbrahamImage source, Rex Features

Aston Villa came back from two goals down to earn a draw against in-form Hull City - but it was their third stalemate in four matches.

"I'm very disappointed with the goals that we are conceding - Hull didn't have to work very hard for their goals and that's the disappointing thing," Villa boss Dean Smith told BBC WM 95.6.

"Credit to the players, they showed a lot of character to comeback but we need to turn draws into wins.

"We're looking to bring in reinforcements during this transfer window, certainly defensively because it's an area that we need to strengthen."

Here's some more reaction from Nottingham Forest manager Martin O'Neill...

"Naturally it's disappointing to lose and it's a learning curve for me," he said. "I thought we were second best in the first half.

"The players were anxious and wanted to impress. There were times when we allowed them a bit too much room to play and they have been decent side in this division for a couple of years. They caused us a few problems.

"It was quite emotional - a great reaction. I am very honoured. I want to make an impact

"I want to settle down and put my stamp on the team."
