David McGoldrick must score... But he heads wide... He just didn't connect with it properly.

Martin O'Neill has been speaking to the media after today's defeat by Bristol City.

The former Republic of Ireland boss said there has been no progress on the Roy Keane deal because there hasn't been time, but they will pick that up next week.

"I wanted to leave it and see what happens next week," he said.

"I thought we could get momentum early on but I didn't get that at all. They settled much better. We gave the ball away too easily and that contributed to a nervy first half.

"They were in control. In the second half we got some momentum going and we had a couple of chances as well."

  14. Liberty pitch showing wear and tearpublished at 20 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Sheff Utd

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

This rather stop-start to the match hasn't been helped by a pitch which looks like it's showing a few signs of wear and tear.

Swansea's co-tenants at the Liberty Stadium, rugby union team Ospreys, played against Cardiff Blues here a fortnight ago but the slowness in the pitch looks more like the natural effects of age.

This turf is over a decade old and is due to be relaid next summer. Perhaps that will give the pitch a new lease of life and help teams to play attractive football.

    Lee JohnsonImage source, Rex Features

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson wants to add to his squad in January to keep their promotion push on track and said he definitely wants to bring in another striker.

"It's been a good run with seven wins from 11 and we can beat anyone on our day," he tells BBC Sport.

"Last season we had a fantastic start but we couldn't maintain the energy.

"We need to create competition and the finances give you the ability to make changes and not affect the quality of the team."
