  2. 'We created enough chances to win two football matches'published at 22:21 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard tells RangersTV: "I thought it was a great performance. We created enough chances to win two football matches. Unfortunately, we just couldn't find that execution to get us three points.

"I'm a little bit frustrated but I can't be too critical because they carried out the game plan incredibly well.

"There are a lot of positives but the reality is that it's two points dropped. We need to be more clinical in front of goal.

"If we can find this level of performance away from home. I'll be a happy man. It was close to some of our away showings in Europe. It was strong and we've caused Hibernian all sorts of problems on their own patch."

Gerrard says Scott Arfield went off with a hamstring problem, saying: "It's a huge blow for us. We're a bit light at the moment and we have some more bumps and bruises."

  3. Rodgers pleased with youngsterspublished at 22:16 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Celtic 3-0 Motherwell

"I thought it was an excellent performance," says Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. "There were some very good moments in the game. Motherwell are a very tough team to play against - they work ever so hard.

"A lot of our play was very good considering the number of games the players have been playing lately. It was great to see the young players coming into the team and doing well – I'm absolutely delighted for them."

  4. 'Three big games coming up for 'Well'published at 22:14 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Celtic 3-0 Motherwell

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Sportsound: "We've got three big games coming up. Anything from tonight would have been a bonus. I made a lot of changes so people would be fresh for Saturday."

The Steelmen host St Mirren before a Boxing Day game at home to Kilmarnock, with a derby in Hamilton to close the year.

  5. Celtic to monitor Edouard 'tightness'published at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Celtic 3-0 Motherwell

"He just felt a tightness around his abductor," says Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on Odsonne Edouard's apparent injury. "We'll just see how that is.

"It's a concern when you lose any player but he's played a lot of games and we've not been able to rest him so it's probably a little bit of fatigue, but we'll see when he is in the next 24 hours."

  6. I've got to be pleased with a point - Lennonpublished at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

Hibs manager Neil Lennon is pleased to take four points from back-to-back home games with Celtic and Rangers.

"It's amazing how it ended up 0-0 because both sides missed good chances," he tells BBC Sportsound.

"I've got to be pleased with a point. Rangers for long periods were the better side. But four points from Celtic and Rangers, I'm delighted.

"We can play better but you give credit to Rangers. Maybe there was a bit fatigue, it's always a big ask to go from Celtic to Rangers and ask them to play like that again.

"We take the clean sheet and the point and move on."

On the yellow card for Ryan Porteous for a wild lunge at Lassana Coulibaly...

"I don't like the recklessness in the challenge, it's not what we coach," he says. "On another day it could have been a red."

On losing goalkeeper Ofir Marciano in the first half...

"It's a calf strain. I'm fed up with all of these injuries. It's getting on my nerves."

Neil Lennon will be delighted with the point. Steven Gerrard will be seeing it as two points dropped. They are not top of the league anymore but they just have to go again. The next two games are must-wins, to set themselves up for the Old Firm derby. That will take care of itself

  9. McGregor cautioned at full-timepublished at 21:51 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

There was a booking after the final whistle at Easter Road, with Rangers goalie Allan McGregor snapping the patience of referee Craig Thomson with some verbals.

  10. 'Celtic didn’t have to work too hard'published at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Celtic 3-0 Motherwell

    Pat Bonner

Celtic didn’t have to work too hard for it. They looked more like themselves. They have a game in hand and have won eight out of eight at home in the league. What will be exercising their minds will be that injury to Edouard.

  11. Firing blanks at Easter Roadpublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

After that 5-5 draw in May, this was something of a disappointment.

It's the first time in a decade that these two have served up a goalless stalemate.

We won't have long to wait for a repeat since they meet again at Ibrox on Boxing Day.

Rangers have managed just two goals in their past five outings. That has to be a concern for manager Steven Gerrard.

Three clean sheets in a row for Hibs, I guess is something to be pleased about but the midfield play was so, so sloppy.

  12. Good night for Celtic as rivals falterpublished at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    FT: Celtic 3-0 Motherwell

Almost the perfect night for Celtic after a comfortable win puts them back on top of the Premiership. The only blip though, an injury to striker Odsonne Edouard who was withdrawn in the first-half.

We'll hear from Brendan Rodgers shortly, who may be able to shed some light on his condition.

  13. FULL-TIME Hibernian 0-0 Rangerspublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

Rangers slip to second, one point behind Celtic.

The visitors had plenty of chances but lacked composure in front of goal.

Hibs stay eighth, missing out on the chance to leapfrog St Johnstone and Livingston.

The home side got nowhere near the heights of their performance against Celtic on Sunday but Oli Shaw did waste two great second-half opportunities.

  14. YELLOW CARD Goldson (Rangers)published at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

Connor Goldson takes a bit of a risk, going down like a sack of spuds as he is gently brushed by the arm of Florian Kamberi. It pays off as Craig Thomson awards a foul, preventing a Hibs break, but then the defender is booked for his angry reaction to some goading from Vykintas Slivka.

  15. FULL-TIME Celtic 3-0 Motherwellpublished at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

Celtic are going top if Rangers can't find a late winner...

  16. Two minutes added onpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

We're into the final minute of regulation time... Can anyone fashion a chance before the final whistle?

  17. Postpublished at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

A bit of magic spray and Connor Goldson is back at the heart of the Rangers defence.

Time is running out. It's getting tense at Easter Road...

  18. Cruise control for Celticpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Celtic 3-0 Motherwell

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Celtic Park

This has been a second half stroll for the home side with the result in no danger. The only surprise is they haven’t added to their tally which will presumably be Motherwell’s only consolation.

With Dundee next to visit Celtic Park you would envisage another home win before tough tests against Aberdeen and Rangers.

Motherwell have not given in but it must be so frustrating playing for so long in the full knowledge you will get nothing out of the game.

To their credit they stuck at it but Celtic were in complete control.

  19. Rangers down to 10 for nowpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

Glenn Middleton is on for Eros Grezda. But that switch might be a bit hasty since defender Connor Goldson is in some trouble and needs attention on the sideline.

Moments before, it looked like Martin Boyle might be away inside the Rangers half but Daniel Candeias got back to mop up the danger, showing a great burst of pace.

  20. Postpublished at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Rangers

Hibs midfielder Mark Milligan takes a big risk, moving his arm into the path of a fierce Alfredo Morelos strike. Top of the shoulder, if you're being generous... It's deflected wide for a corner as Rangers pile on the pressure.
