  1. Lennon anticipates 'high-octane' matchpublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Hibernian head coach Neil Lennon is not expecting a repeat of the 5-5 draw with Rangers in May, telling BBC Sportsound: "I think it'll be a lot more cagey tonight.

"I still expect a high-octane, high-intensity game. Hopefully we can build on a great win at the weekend.

"The confidence is there, so we didn't feel any need to change the team.

"It's great having Mark Milligan and Martin Boyle back to call on as substitutes.

"Rangers are harder to beat this season. They have a bit of steel, good energy, and they are well organised

"They've got a very good goalkeeper as well, by the way, Allan (McGregor) has been fantastic this season."

  2. What a day in May!published at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

The last time these two met we were treated to 10 goals in a quite remarkable match at Easter Road.

It was the final day of the season and the home side needed a win with a six-goal swing to leapfrog the visitors into third place.

After 22 minutes, that task did not look as improbable as it sounded, with Hibs 3-0 up.

By half-time, it was all square. By 68 minutes, Rangers were two goals in front.

As if that wasn't bonkers enough there was still time for Hibs to level, with Jamie Maclaren completing a hat-trick in stoppage time.

We also had a late red card for Rangers and Hibs boss Neil Lennon sent to the stands for his "aeroplane" celebrations on the pitch after the last-gasp equaliser.

  3. Can Edouard get back among the goals?published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Celtic v Motherwell (19:45)

The last time Celtic hosted Motherwell in the league was a little over a year ago when Odsonne Edouard scored a hat-trick in a 5-1 victory.

Edouard has since turned his loan spell from Paris St-Germain into a permanent deal after the champions shelled out a club record fee over the summer.

The 20-year-old has hit a sticky spell, scoring once in his past eight appearances but he's really the only striker available.

At the weekend, manager Brendan Rodgers said it was "unfair" that the Frenchman was being asked to play so many games.

Fellow striker Leigh Griffiths is absent as he deals with personal issues and Moussa Dembele was sold on the last day of the summer window, leaving Rodgers short of options up front.

  4. Celtic enjoy home comfort against 'Wellpublished at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Celtic v Motherwell (19:45)

That game at Fir Park earlier this month was a third successive home draw with the champions for Motherwell.

Their record at Celtic Park is not so impressive, since the past five trips to the east end of Glasgow in all competitions have resulted in five defeats and an aggregate score of 21-1.

    Celtic v Motherwell (19:45)

Celtic were held to a midweek draw by Motherwell just 15 days ago, with Danny Johnson firing in a late equaliser for the Steelmen at Fir Park.

Ryan Christie shot the visitors into an early lead, while Leigh Griffiths had a first-half spot-kick saved and Filip Benkovic had a goal harshly ruled out.

Former Liverpool and Bolton team-mates Jon Flanagan (left) and Adam Bogdan shake hands ahead of kick off at Easter Road.

  7. Can Rangers find 'killer instinct'?published at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Rangers returned to the top of the pile on Sunday after edging out Hamilton Accies at Ibrox.

Daniel Candeias scored after three minutes but the hosts could not find another goal, despite enjoying 62% possession, having 15 shots and forcing 22 corners.

Manager Steven Gerrard was less than impressed by his side's final ball, lamenting a lack of "killer instinct".

With just two goals in their past four outings in all competitions, the return of top scorer Alfredo Morelos from a two-match suspension is a big boost. But who will supply the ammunition?

  8. Hibs aim for Old Firm doublepublished at 19:05 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Despite a long injury list and a troubling sequence of form, Hibs turned in their best performance of the season on Sunday to beat Celtic 2-0.

Vykintas Slivka scored after just 46 seconds and Florian Kamberi ended his run of six games without finding the net by smashing in a fantastic strike in the second half.

Neil Lennon's side out-worked and out-thought the champions from start to finish.

Can they complete an Old Firm double this evening?

Their record against Rangers was impressive last term, taking seven points, but the two victories came at Ibrox.

  10. Ralston starts for Celticpublished at 19:00 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Celtic v Motherwell (19:45)

Celtic hand a first start of the season to right-back Anthony Ralston in the only change to the team that lost at Easter Road.

The 20-year-old in for Kristoffer Ajer, in what looks like a return to a 4-3-3 formation.

Motherwell make five changes after their excellent win away to St Johnstone.

Alex Rodriguez Gorrin makes a rare start and there are places for Andy Rose, Gael Birigimana, Ryan Bowman and Connor Sammon.

Christian Mbulu, Alan Campbell, David Turnbull, Denny Johnson and Curtis Main are the men making way.

  11. Same again for Hibs, Morelos back for Gerspublished at 18:58 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2018

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Neil Lennon clearly thinks if it's not broke, don't fix it as he picks the same starting XI that took to the field for Sunday's win over Celtic.

Martin Boyle and Mark Milligan return to the matchday squad as substitutes.

Two changes for Rangers with Lassana Coulibaly taking over from Ross McCrorie in midfield and top scorer Alfredo Morelos returning from suspension and replacing Kyle Lafferty in attack. Both McCrorie and Lafferty are on the bench.

    Celtic v Motherwell & Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

The Scottish Premiership lead changed hands twice at the weekend and there could be a new pacesetter come close of play tonight.

Kilmarnock overtook Celtic and Rangers by beating Dundee on Saturday then Rangers went to the top after overcoming Hamilton not long after Celtic had lost at Hibernian on Sunday.

Tonight, it's Rangers' turn to visit Easter Road while Celtic will look to take advantage of any slip-up by their Glasgow rivals when they host Motherwell.
