  1. 'Two out-of-form teams'published at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

    Fulham v Brighton (19:45 GMT)

    Mark Scott
Match of the Day commentator at Craven Cottage

It has been a tough 2019 for Fulham, with their four straight defeats this month including an FA Cup exit to Oldham and a painful late loss against Tottenham last time out.

Claudio Ranieri's comments about the Cottagers "continuing to fight" after the Spurs game were then taken a little too literally by Aboubakar Kamara.

Brighton may be well clear of danger but they've fared no better than Fulham over the past eight league games - although their last two league fixtures were narrow defeats to Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Seagulls' away form certainly offers a bit of cheer for Fulham though, going into what feels like a must-win game for them.

Everton manager Marco Silva: "We played three days ago, it was a tough game and we have some injuries also.

"It's always a good opportunity for us, every game we play. We can change things again for us.

"It is a new coach for them, they haven't played yet so it is difficult for us to surprise them, it is possible they can surprise us."

Zred: Arsenal starting with 3 holding midfielders at home to Cardiff?!

Andrew: For me, Pochettinho in one comment has talked himself out of contention for the Manchester United job with a defeatist, mis-informed and out-of-touch comment for any manager of a top-level football club. He has completely missed the point of what he is there to do.

There will be plenty of tributes to Emiliano Sala from Cardiff fans at the Emirates.

A banner will be displayed in the away stand and it's believed there have been yellow signs placed on seats which will be held up to create an image.

Players will also wear yellow daffodil armbands during the game.

Throughout the week, supporters, friends and family members of Sala have placed tributes at the Cardiff City Stadium.

  8. Will Man Utd go level with Chelsea?published at 19:12 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

Man Utd v Burnley (20:00 GMT)

    Ian Dennis
Radio 5 live senior football reporter at Old Trafford

Manchester United were 11 points adrift of the top four when Jose Mourinho was sacked a week before Christmas.

But a victory against Burnley will take a resurgent United level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea, albeit maybe for only 24 hours.

Regardless what occurs in this next round of matches, Champions League qualification through the league is now a distinct possibility under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Burnley have drawn on their past two visits to Old Trafford, and last season were so close to a famous win until Jesse Lingard equalised in the 91st minute to make it 2-2.

Wolves v West Ham (19:45 GMT)

    Alistair Mann
    MOTD commentator at Molineux

A point apart in the table and with almost identical records, there are some striking similarities between Wolves and West Ham.

Both have recorded impressive victories against the big six - Wolves against Tottenham and Chelsea, the Hammers against Arsenal and Manchester United.

But the fact that they are only in mid-table points to their inconsistency.

Both sides come into this game having accumulated just seven points from their past six matches and, in truth, trying to predict the outcome of this particular tussle is nigh on impossible!

"We need to be concentrated for the three points like we were against Chelsea."

  20. 100 up for Guardiolapublished at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

Newcastle v Man City (20:00 GMT)

    Steve Bower
Match of the Day commentator at St James' Park

Pep Guardiola takes charge of his 100th Premier League game, having seen his Manchester City side score 29 goals in all competitions since they last conceded.

Rafael Benitez, meanwhile, still cuts a frustrated figure as he is yet to welcome a new face to boost a Newcastle team who have lost eight league games at home already.

The reigning champions have the extra incentive of being able to reduce the gap to one point at the top of the table before Liverpool face Leicester on Wednesday, as the psychological part of the season hots up.

The hosts will have to defy history as well as form to secure anything at St James' Park - Newcastle have taken only three points from the last 66 on offer against City.
