These were the scenes at Stoke earlier as the Potters paid their respects to England's World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks.

Not much to report on the pitch thus far as Nathan Jones' men take on Aston Villa.

  9. Clash of the fallen giantspublished at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Stoke City v Aston Villa (15:00 GMT)

    Sam VokesImage source, Rex Features

Off the field, it will be a sombre occasion in the Potteries as Stoke City remember former England goalkeeper Gordon Banks who passed away last week.

On the field, it is a meeting of two struggling giants who between them have racked up just three wins since Christmas.

Stoke - despite their big summer spending - are now closer to the relegation places than they are to the play-off spots, while Villa have failed to score in three of their past four matches and are 10th in the Championship, nine points off the top seven.

The last time these two sides met at the Bet365 Stadium was in the Premier League just under three years ago - Marko Arnautovic scored twice in five minutes to help Stoke win 2-1.

    FT: Scunthorpe 1-1 Doncaster Rovers

    Kyle WootonImage source, Rex Features

In the EFL's early kick-off in League One Scunthorpe got a point as they came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Doncaster Rovers.

Mallik Wilks gave Rovers a 15th-minute lead, but Kyle Wootton headed Scunthorpe level midway through the second half.

Doncaster remain in the final play-off place, but could be overtaken by Peterborough, while as it stands Scunny move up to 13th place.

  11. Can Rovers stop the rot?published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers (15:00 GMT)

    Tony MowbrayImage source, Rex Features

February has not been a good month for Blackburn Rovers - their record is played four, lost four.

Since a Jack Rodwell-inspired win over Hull on 26 January, Rovers have dropped from eighth place and three points off the play-off spots to 14th, 10 points off the top seven.

They travel to St Andrew's to face a Birmingham City side hoping to see Che Adams return to his goalscoring best after a rare game off last time out.

The 22-year-old striker has scored seven goals in his past six games.

When he last found the net a fortnight ago, his hat-trick helped City go 4-0 up at QPR before Blues almost threw away three points as Rangers pulled three goals back.

  13. Hotshots meet as Bees host Tigerspublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Brentford v Hull City (15:00 GMT)

Neal Maupay and Jarrod BowenImage source, Rex Features

Two of the Championship's in-form strikers go head-to-head at Griffin Park as Brentford face Hull City.

The Bees' Neal Maupay has scored six goals in his past nine games to take his tally to 21 this season.

On the other side Hull City boast Jarrod Bowen - eight goals in his past eight games and 16 for the season - with 10 of those goals coming in the past two months.

After a slump following Dean Smith's departure to take on the manager's job at Aston Villa, the Bees seem to be getting their sting back - they have won four of their past five games, but have not beaten Hull since a 2-1 win on the final day of the 2004-05 season in League One. Since then, it's a run of five winless matches against the Tigers.

  14. Rangers hope lightning does not strike thricepublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Middlesbrough v Queens Park Rangers (15:00 GMT)

    Jake BidwellImage source, Rex Features

QPR fans will need nerves of steel if the scores are level at the Riverside Stadium going into the final minutes this afternoon.

Rangers lost at home to West Brom on Tuesday to a stoppage-time Jake Livermore goal, while Famara Diedhiou's penalty at the death saw Bristol City take all three points at Ashton Gate a week earlier.

It is a six-game losing streak for Steve McClaren's men, who have lost their past five away games by a single goal.

Boro have not managed to get back-to-back wins in the league since November, but with the pack chasing down the play-off spots, manager Tony Pulis knows his side need to keep the victories coming.

  15. Goalless draw on the cards at Wednesday?published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City (15:00 GMT)

    Steve BruceImage source, Rex Features

This century Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City have been paired in the same division on four separate occasions.

In each of the previous three times, one of the two fixtures between them has ended 0-0 - their prior game this season saw the Swans win 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium - so surely it will be a goalless affair this time around?

The omens do not look great for a thriller - both sides have scored two goals in their past three Championship games, with Wednesday drawing two blanks and Swansea one.

However, the last time these sides did not play out at least one goalless game in a league fixture was in January 1984 when Wednesday thrashed Swansea 6-1 in the old Second Division.

  16. Relegation six-pointer at the Mad Stadpublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Reading v Rotherham United (15:00 GMT)

    Paul WarneImage source, Rex Features

It is a pretty simple scenario for Reading and Rotherham - the winner moves three points clear of the drop zone, the loser stays in the bottom three.

Paul Warne's side have drawn each of their past four games, having lost each of the four prior to that.

Winning only twice since mid-September has been Rotherham's Achilles heel - only Ipswich have won fewer games that Rotherham's five this season.

The Royals have mustered six wins, but three goals in their past five games shows where their problems lie.

  17. Can Millwall end Preston's great run?published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Millwall v Preston North End (15:00 GMT)

Preston goalkeeper Declan RuddImage source, Rex Features

On the field it's been a pretty decent week for Millwall - they have progressed to the last eight of the FA Cup and beat high-flying Derby County on Wednesday.

But off the field it has not been one to remember, with the club being charged by the FA for alleged racist chants by their fans during their FA Cup fourth-round win over Everton last month.

They host a Preston side unbeaten in seven, including impressive wins over Norwich City and away at QPR and Stoke.

Preston are looking to complete a league double over Millwall for the first time since the 2005-06 season, and may fancy their chances against a Lions side that has not scored a goal at home this year.

  18. Lambert has a comfier seat this afternoonpublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Wigan Athletic v Ipswich Town (15:00 GMT)

Paul Lambert is held back by a police officerImage source, Rex Features

Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert starts his two-match touchline ban for his fracas in the East Anglia derby.

While he will no doubt have a comfier seat from the director's box, Ipswich's plight is far from comfortable - nine points from safety and just three wins all season.

In fact Wigan and Ipswich's combined record in 2019 is played 15, won three, drawn four, lost eight.

In fairness to the Latics, they have not lost in almost a month and have taken five points from their past three unbeaten matches. A victory this afternoon could see Wigan go as many as eight points clear from the drop zone.

  19. Big day in the battle against the droppublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

Bottom of the ChampionshipImage source, BBC Sport

There are a couple of massive games at the bottom of the Championship this afternoon.

Reading and Rotherham meet at the Madejski Stadium locked together on 29 points from 33 games - the Millers' worse goal difference sees them in the final relegation place.

Victory for either side would be a major boost going into the final quarter of the season.

A three-point haul for either side in Berkshire, coupled with a victory for Wigan at home to Ipswich, would see the Suffolk club staring at a 12-point chasm between them and safety - it would also give the Latics an eight-point buffer to the drop zone.

If those results happen Millwall could be drawn into the fight - they host in-form Preston North End having not scored a goal at home in the league in 2019.

Meanwhile, Bolton have a tough task to get anything this afternoon as the strugglers travel to promotion-chasing Leeds.

  20. Can Yeovil's new owner bring upturn in results?published at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

    Yeovil v Cambridge (15:00 GMT)

The 'new manager bounce' is a relatively well-known football phenomenon.

Whether there is such a thing as a 'new owner bounce' is a bit more up in the air.

    Rob CouhigImage source, Getty Images

Yeovil Town will hope there is a such a thing after their new American owner Rob Couhig confirmed his plans to take over the struggling League Two side.

Six defeats in succession have seen the Glovers slip to one place above the League Two relegation zone.

In those six losses they have scored just two goals and conceded 13 - something Couhig will not want to see continue.
