But Richarlison's first touch is dreadful and Paul Dummett gets across to slide in.

Bernard stands up his man and swings in a low cross from the left, where Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks to get in the way of Gylfi Sigurdsson.

But Calvert-Lewin does really well, spinning away to get the ball to his right before fizzing a shot just wide.

Fabian Schar is on edge and takes out his frustration at a decision against his side by throwing the ball into the ground.

That's a booking and 10 for the season so he'll miss the next two matches. Not smart.

Michael Keane launches himself towards the cross-in but it's cleared by Newcastle, who then win the goal-kick.

Yet again Lucas Digne finds oceans of room down the left, this time from Gylfi Sigurdsson's reverse pass.

Lucas Digne again gets in down the left and fizzes a low cross into the area, which Ki Sung-yeung just about deflects out for a throw.

A long ball over the top from deep towards Salomon Rondon, who uses his strength to hold off Jonjoe Kenny and then gets to the ball before Jordan Pickford, poking it beyond the Everton keeper.

But the ball bounces agonisingly wide of the far post.

Another big let-off for Pickford. He's been erratic today, if you're being kind. He's been awful, if you're not.
