    Newcastle 0-0 Everton

Eeek. Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka is put under pressure by Dominic Calvert-Lewin and knocks his clearance straight to an Everton player.

The visitors work the ball into the area, Richarlison goes down and Gylfi Sigurdsson gets in a shot that Dubravka saves easily.

Brief look from Richarlison at referee Lee Mason but nothing doing.

  3. 'If Everton lose I'd be worried'published at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

I am not sure what the Magpies' approach will be like this time but I think what happens in this game is far more significant for Everton manager Marco Silva.

After all their hard work last week, and the way they raised their game, if the Toffees went to St James' Park and got run over, then I would be seriously worried.

  6. 'Each match is a final'published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

Everton manager Marco Silva: "We have to look for each match as a final, like we did against Cardiff and in the derby.

"Newcastle are always a solid team. They are very strong in their defensive organisation. They have always got five men in their backline with four players in front of them who are really solid.

"They do not concede many goals and they are really strong in counter-attack too."

  7. 'Another final for us'published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez: "I was trying to avoid over confidence in the group before the West Ham game but sometimes you can't.

"We won't make the same mistake. Everton is another final for us.

"We did well at Goodison Park. We played well, but they have good players and it will be a tough, tough game."

    Newcastle v Everton (15:00 GMT)

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez makes two changes to the XI that started in the 2-0 defeat at West Ham.

Ki Sung-yueng replaces the injured Sean Longstaff in midfield and full-back DeAndre Yedlin comes in for Javier Manquillo.

Newcastle XI: Dubravka, Yedlin, Schar, Lascelles, Lejeune, Ritchie, Perez, Hayden, Ki, Almiron, Rondon.

Everton make three changes from the line-up that began in the 0-0 draw against Liverpool.

The visitors were originally due to make two changes - with attacking midfielder Richarlison in for Theo Walcott and Andre Gomes replacing Morgan Schneiderlin in the centre.

But captain Seamus Coleman has withdrawn due to illness and is replaced in the starting XI by Jonjoe Kenny. Tom Davies is on the bench and Gylfi Sigurdsson is captain.

Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne, Andre Gomes, Gueye, Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Calvert-Lewin.
