After taking 26 points from their first 17 games this season, Manchester United have won 29 from 11 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Surely nobody expected a winter THIS content at Old Trafford?

Wednesday's win at Crystal Palace showed how only calm waters are being navigated with 'Ole at the wheel'. , externalA game that might have caused difficulty in the past proved little problem, even with key players missing.

Now a similar, potentially problematic, test against a Saints side who've done well at United in recent times (since Sir Alex Ferguson retired) and arrive buoyed by a vital victory over Fulham.

A home win is probable - but an away win not impossible.

  6. Can Cardiff climb out again?published at 13:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2019

    Wolves v Cardiff (15:00 GMT)

    Match of the Day commentator

Cardiff's climb out of the relegation zone proved to be brief, and losing heavily at home to Watford and then Everton will have severely dented already fragile confidence.

In this deeply troubling season for Neil Warnock, it's a major challenge of his motivational powers to rouse his players again.

No doubt he will bring up their recent wins at Southampton and Leicester, while Wolves' loss at Huddersfield on Tuesday might provide further encouragement - as should their victory in the reverse fixture in Wales last November.

Wolves have stuttered of late but surely it's only a matter of time before they click into gear again. Isn't it?

Antonio Valencia is set to leave Manchester United this summer.

The club captain is approaching 10 years at Old Trafford but United have not triggered an option on Valencia's contract that expired on Friday evening.

It is understood the 33-year-old former Wigan player is resigned to leaving the club this summer, but is keen to extend his career.

Valencia is currently at home in Ecuador recovering from a calf injury.

They may only be five points above the Premier League's bottom three, but there is little to suggest that Burnley or Crystal Palace will be involved in the relegation shake-up.

Their midweek defeats were merely a blip in what has been a progressive few weeks for Sean Dyche and Roy Hodgson's teams.

The Clarets have been hugely aided by their front two simultaneously finding form, as well as the excellent Tom Heaton's almost flawless return in goal.

It's the start of a big month for Palace, with home games to come against bitter rivals Brighton and then Huddersfield, as well as an FA Cup quarter-final.

  9. Biggest game of Brighton's season?published at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2019

This fixture could be billed as the biggest of the season so far for Brighton.

After beating Everton in their final game of 2018, Brighton had 25 points from 20 matches.

Two months and seven league games later, the Seagulls have gained just two more points.

Huddersfield are still a long way from safety, but the last-gasp victory over Wolves has given them the faintest glimmer of hope.

These two clubs came up from the Championship together in 2017, and a rare away win for Huddersfield would increase Brighton's worries that they might also be returning to the EFL.

  10. Different proposition at home...published at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2019

Bournemouth v Man City (15:00 GMT)

Bournemouth at home are a completely different prospect to Bournemouth away. The side which has lost its last 10 away games is certainly capable of troubling Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium.

It must be a real conundrum for manager Eddie Howe, who was in the Bournemouth team the last time they avoided defeat against City - that was a third-tier game in 1999.

City will go top if they draw, but need to win to apply real added pressure to Liverpool, who will be preparing for the Merseyside derby.

After their unexpected defeats at Newcastle and Leicester, Pep Guardiola will be wary.
