    Man Utd 0-1 Southampton

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on Final Score

Southampton are getting the ball wide, getting crosses into the box and really making United defend. The game is quite even, United started well but Southampton have coped so well.

Hugh: Goal of the month is over - give it to Valery now!!

Anthony: I am a Man United fan, but that Jan Valery goal couldn't have gone better if it were a guided missile.

Great effort! Nicolas Otamendi throws in a scissor kick from a corner which lands on the top of the net. This is following the pattern of City's eventual win against West Ham in midweek.

    Man Utd 0-1 Southampton

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on Final Score

I think there is a question mark from David de Gea’s standards he shouldn’t get beat from there. The shot is hit with really good power and speed, but De Gea is across and does get a hand to it.

The one thing Bournemouth have found difficult is being able to play through the press. A soon as Man City lose poss they press quickly, and they press with intensity.

Problems for Cherries youngster David Brooks, who took a whack from Niclas Otamendi. The home fans are incensed but referee Kevin Friend is happy enough with the challenge. Brooks needs treatment on his ankle.

    Yan Valery (25 mins)

    Goodness me.

United miss their chances and are made to pay.

The hosts sit off advancing Southampton right-back Yan Valery and the 20-year-old does not need anymore invitation, cranking up his right boot and smashing a thunderous finish into the top corner from around 30 yards out.

    What a hit.

David de Gea gets a hand on it, but the shot has too much power.

Could be three as Wolves put together another slick move but Morgan Gibbs-White can't connect with a beautiful cross. Joe Ralls then fires over for Cardiff, who are three points adrift as it stands.

Burnley's response to falling behind? Decent.

Ashley Barnes has a crack from the right edge of the box, but it is straight into the sizeable frame of Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

Wolves are so good at hunting down the ball, they swamp an area, there were so many Wolves players that Cardiff were just marking space. After a bright start Cardiff have been brought back to reality.

A player of David Silva's quality, you expect him to put it in the net. The best chance of the game and he just puts it wide.

  19. CLOSE!published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2019

A familiar tale for Manchester City so far, dominating possession without troubling the opposition keeper too much. David Silva should do exactly that though, firing wide from a lovely Kevin de Bruyne cut-back.

    Raul Jimenez (18 mins)

We can can any controversy about Wolves making so many changes I think...

Raul Jimenez is a very, very good forward indeed. He makes another goal, for himself this time, winning the ball back on the left, crossing brilliantly with the outside of his foot for Diogo Jota, who this time lays it back to Jimenez instead of shooting and the number nine Steve Bulls it into the back of the net.

Could be a long day for Cardiff.
