"If there is an option and we can get someone in then it could be that this works. Until now it is not done."

Asked if the club's transfer business was done, the Austrian said: "No not yet.

"On the last day options come up and it show us chance to get an interesting player. We are still busy.

  9. Anyone spotted a helicopter circling over Burnley?published at 11:17 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2019

    Burnley

We're pretty sure Peter Crouch is on his way to Burnley, but it's anyone's guess how he's getting there...

This anecdote is from BBC Radio 5 live's That Peter Crouch podcast:

"I got sold on deadline day in 2011. I was watching the breaking news graphic on TV, and apparently someone had spotted me in a helicopter going to Stoke from London.

"Me and my dad were watching that in the Target Lane services on the A40, eating a Big Mac. We weren't even very far into our journey. We hadn't even done a junction. It was sort of right - I was going to Stoke. Just in a family saloon via a McDonald's, rather than a helicopter."

My brother in law works at Spurs and he's just seen Daniel Levy bringing his new transfer day deal in via the media room at Wembley. Apparently the Ikea flat pack stadium extension is going to White Hart Lane with a man in a van before 20:00 tonight.

  15. Batshuayi, Cahill, Giroud to Hammers?published at 10:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2019

    What does your club need?

    West Ham United

Now the West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini complained at being left with only "15 fit" players and a considerable injury list after their defeat at Wolves on Tuesday.

However, according to David Blackmore, editor of West Ham United magazine Blowing Bubbles, that may not translate into any additions.

"I've been surprised given our long injury list that we've not looked to add numbers to give the squad a boost. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't make any loan signings before the window slams shut," he said.

"The likes of [Michy] Batshuayi, [Gary] Cahill, [Olivier] Giroud, and, much to my despair, Danny Drinkwater have been reported as loan options. They might be of use but they are certainly not the type of player to take us to the next level."

Quite a few ifs here but if Peter Crouch joins Burnley, and if he scores for them in the Premier League, he would join a rather select group of players.

At 38 (and one day old) only eight older players have ever scored a Premier League goal?
