  2. Kilmarnock 'didn't deserve bad break' - Clarkepublished at 18:35 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

    FT: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke tells BBC Scotland: "We asked for a consistent level of performance, and I thought we were good today. I thought there were two good teams on pitch.

"We didn’t deserve the bad break at the end. We’re a little unfortunate. It’s frustrating to play so well and not get anything from the game."

Asked about Kirk Broadfoot's red card, he added: "I've only seen the wide-angle lens, and it’s hard to tell. But it didn’t look too good from the sidelines.

"Even after going down to 10 men we looked reasonably comfortable. I couldn’t see Celtic scoring to be honest."

  3. Rodgers 'feels for' sent-off Brownpublished at 18:31 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

    FT: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic

More from Rodgers, who had sympathy for his skipper Scott Brown, who earned a second yellow card - and a red - for jumping over the advertising hoardings to celebrate his late winner with the Celtic fans.

"It is one thing that spoils the game now," Rodgers said. "It is so emotional when you score so late on, and it was a very important win.

"I suppose it is in the rules, but I feel for any player that gets sent off for celebrating. We all want to see that passion in the game."

  4. Celtic 'well deserving of victory' - Rodgerspublished at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

    FT: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Sportsound:

"We weren't settling for a draw. We play to win every game and I thought we played very well considering we had a game of such intensity and difficulty on Thursday.

"It is never easy here, you have got to break through their block and they are very well organised. You know there are not going to be many chances so you have got to be ready.

"In the second half the players had great control and limited Kilmarnock to nothing really. When the moment arrived we took it, so I thought we were well deserving of the win."

    FT: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic

Celtic have still yet to concede a goal in domestic competition in 2019.

That's eight games - six in the Premiership, two in the Scottish Cup - since they conceded a goal to Rangers' Ryan Jack in the 30th minute of the last Old Firm game on 29 December.

I've done the math for you. That's 780 minutes without conceding.

  8. Celtic move eight points clearpublished at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2019

    FT: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic

Confirmation that Celtic have moved eight points clear of city rivals Rangers, who were held at home by St Johnstone yesterday, with 12 games left.

Timothy Weah was booked after the final whistle by the way, and there are suggestions some Celtic fans moved to taunt the Kilmarnock supporters at the end.

So plenty to talk about. Reaction from both camps coming up shortly.

Celtic move eight points clear at the top

What a finish at Rugby Park. The Celtic fans are in full voice. They obviously think that's an eighth title in the bag, and it would be a brave man - or woman - who bet against that prospect now.

Eight points clear with 12 games left. Is it done and dusted?

Would you Adam and Eve it. Dedryck Boyata heads it back into the area and Scott Brown hits a volley - that deflects off Alex Bruce's arm - that finds the back of the net.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Celtic

Kilmarnock have made two more changes. First Canadian forward Liam Millar replaces the impressive Conor McAleny up front, now Rory McKenzie is on for Chris Burke, who deservedly gets a warm round of applause for his efforts today.

Fresh legs for the final rearguard action? Can they hold on with 10 men?

  18. CLOSE!published at 81 mins

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Celtic

That's as close as Celtic have come since the opening 10 minutes. Lovely delivery from Jonny Hayes on the left, and Ryan Christie flashes a header just wide of the left-hand post.

Timothy Weah is also on by the way, for James Forrest.

  19. Postpublished at 79 mins

So can Celtic take advantage of having an extra man in these final 11 or 12 minutes and put themselves eight points clear in the title race?

  20. Bruce on for Brophypublished at 77 mins
