  1. Will Asllani recover in time?

    England v Sweden (16:00 BST)

    There's still doubts over whether striker Kosovare Asllani will be able to play for Sweden tonight.

    She was taken off on a stretcher in extra-time in the defeat to the Netherlands in the semi-final.

    There's suggestions that if she can't play, we may see another formation than the usual 4-3-3 head coach Peter Gerhardsson prefers to use.

    Asllani has scored two goals and picked up an assist in her six appearances in France so would be a huge loss to the Sweden side.

  3. Late goal denies Sweden

    England v Sweden (16:00 BST)

    Sweden kept the Netherlands at bay for 99 minutes before new Manchester United signing Jackie Groenen scored in extra-time.

    That sent the Netherlands through to their first World Cup final and second successive major tournament final after winning the Euros in 2017.

    Former Arsenal goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal had earlier kept the Dutch on level terms with three important saves, before Gunners striker Vivianne Miedema's header was touched on to Sweden's crossbar at the other end.

  4. Heartbreak for England

    England v Sweden (16:00 BST)

    It wasn't to be.

    England lost their third successive major tournament semi-final on Tuesday in a 2-1 defeat to the USA.

    Ellen White's goal had cancelled out Christen Press's opener before Alex Morgan headed in a second before half-time.

    White had a goal disallowed for offside and England captain Steph Houghton missed a penalty in the 85th-minute which would have sent the game to extra-time.

  5. Legendary Carney retires from football

    England v Sweden (16:00 BST)

    It's a sad day as we say farewell to legendary England and Chelsea forward Karen Carney, who will retire from football after this match.

    The 31-year-old made her senior debut for Birmingham aged 14, and went on to play in four World Cups for England and the 2012 Olympics for Great Britain.

    She made her England debut in 2005 and has won 143 caps and scored 32 goals - including three substitute appearances in France.

    "I am incredibly proud to have achieved so much in the game," she said. "The thing I'll miss most is singing the anthem, but also kicking a ball.

    "But now is definitely the right time to retire. I don't think I have any more in the tank. I've given my heart and soul to club and country, there's nothing more I can physically or mentally give. I have no regrets.

    "To have played for England was my ultimate ambition and to do so at four World Cups and represent Team GB at a home Olympics was beyond the wildest dreams I had when first starting out."

  6. England's hopes of reaching their first World Cup final were dashed by defending champions the USA on Tuesday.

    And Sweden, looking to make their first final since 2003, were defeated in extra-time by European champions the Netherlands the following day.

    Nobody wants to leave France empty-handed. And so they are back in Nice today, playing for a chance to win bronze.

  7. It's England's last game at the 2019 World Cup in France.

    They have a medal to fight for and a chance to equal their best achievements at a World Cup - matching their third-place finish in Canada four years ago.
