GOAL - England 1-2 Swedenpublished at 31 mins

    Fran Kirby

    That's more like it!

Jill Scott plays a fantastic pass through to Fran Kirby, who stays onside and cuts in from the right.

It's a brilliant first touch and she beats the defender before curling it into the far left corner. It bounces off the inside of the post and over the line.

Terrific goal! Just what England needed.

England's forwards have just not had the service yet.

England don't really look bothered. After seeing Netherlands vs Sweden I thought this would be easy. How wrong was I?

    England 0-2 Sweden

    Lindsay Johnson
Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I thought Nikita Parris was going to have a shot on goal but she unselfishly pulled it back.

That is what England can do when they move the ball quickly and it's the first time we have seen it in this game.

  7. 'One pass too many'published at 16:28 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    England 0-2 Sweden

    Lucy Ward
    Former Leeds United Ladies striker

One pass too many. Nikita Parris had the chance to shoot just before that and get England back into the game but didn't take the opportunity to do so.

  8. CLOSE!published at 28 mins

    England 0-2 Sweden

Ellen White links up with Nikita Parris, who chooses not to shoot. It's slipped left to Fran Kirby, then onto Beth Mead but her shot is saved on the line.

The flag then goes up for offside on Mead.

The Swedish army of fans behind Hedvig Lindhal's goal are bouncing with joy.

Phil Neville said in his pre-match chat that Sweden were the toughest side he'd encountered during his 18 months with England, and they're proving why right now.

  13. 'Sweden deserve their lead'published at 16:24 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    England 0-2 Sweden

    Lindsay Johnson
Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is a great finish by Sofia Jakobsson but there is no marking. She had all the time in the world to curl it into the far corner. Carly Telford did not have a chance and Sweden deserve this lead.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 24 mins

    England 0-2 Sweden

Lucy Bronze has had enough. She lets her anger out on the ball when it comes to her 25 yards out, just to the right of the box.

She lets fly and her shot is parried away, low, by keeper Hedvig Lindahl near the right post.

  15. goal

GOAL - England 0-2 Swedenpublished at 21 mins

    Sofia Jakobsson

England have completely lost the plot.

Sofia Jakobsson is allowed to run straight into the box and Steph Houghton doesn't close her down.

The Sweden striker curls it beautifully into the right corner. A lovely goal but what are England doing?!

The problem is, the women are as over hyped as the men, and when they play someone half decent they aren't as good as they think.

  17. Postpublished at 21 mins

    England 0-1 Sweden

Jill Scott is waving her arms in space in midfield but doesn't get the ball off Jade Moore. Instead England go all the way back to Steph Houghton.

The patience almost comes off as an attack builds down the right but Nikita Parris' curling cross won't reach Beth Mead.

  18. 'Disjointed'published at 16:19 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    England 0-1 Sweden

    Lindsay Johnson
Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It looks like England are disjointed and not working together.

I know we have made changes, and Sweden have kept this same squad for most of the tournament, but we just seem to be struggling on the left hand side.

    England 0-1 Sweden

    Caroline Chapman
    BBC Sport in Nice

Carly Telford is screaming at Jade Moore to come forward and get on the end of her goal kick. Moore lowers her hands and does the universal 'calm down' or 'slow down' sign, as Abbie McManus stands in the box and looks slightly confused.

    England are a bit dazed.

  20. Postpublished at 18 mins

    England 0-1 Sweden

Another cross from the right is whipped into the box by Sweden. This time, Lucy Bronze reacts and gets the first to hook it away.

Too much time on the ball...
