More from West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini on the sluggish first half: "There is a lot of reasons. When you compare this season to last season it is very different [no relegation to fight against].

"Also, we have too many injured players so a lot of them are feeling the season as they are playing too many games. We have an average of five or six players injured in every game so maybe that is why they look tired in these games.

"I think Eden Hazard is a very good player who makes a difference in most parts of the game but the way he went through the four players was a little too easy."

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini speaking to Sky Sports: "We improved a lot in the second half. They scored that second goal finally and the difference was the first half.

"When a player with the quality of Eden Hazard, you know he can make different things. Going through four players is not easy. But we could have done better in the way we defended that goal and our play.

"We changed things and we had a chance to draw. I saw the personality in the second half but in the first half, no."

On Samir Nasri: "He felt a problem with his calf when he was warming up so that was why he couldn't play."

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri tells BBC Sport: "In the first half, we were in full control of the match and I was not happy with the result at the end of the half, we could have scored more. In the second half, we were in trouble for only 10 minutes but then in the last part of the match we were in control and we deserved to score the second goal.

"In the previous match, Eden Hazard has played really well too. He was devastating. When Hazard can play like this, we are lucky.

On Eden Hazard rumours: "I don't know anything about it, not at all. I hope it is not true, of course. Every coach wants to keep him."

"Now we have to travel and play after 72 hours in Prague. We will have to change some players also because after three days we play Liverpool so it is a very hard week for us. In the moment, I have 20-21 players ready to play."

Eden Hazard has scored 19 goals in all competitions in 2018-19 – his joint-best tally in a season for Chelsea (level with 2014-15).

The Belgian has been directly involved in 11 goals in his last 10 Premier League games at Stamford Bridge (6 goals, 5 assists).

He has been directly involved in more Premier League goals than any other player this season (16 goals, 12 assists).

More from Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri on Eden Hazard: "Hazard played a wonderful match. He did well against Brighton too. We are very lucky because it is very easy to win the match when he is able to make that kind of difference.

"It (£100m) is too cheap in this market! We have seen in the last few windows every price I think. So it is very hard to get another player like him. I cannot do anything I think. The club agrees with me. But if Eden Hazard wants to make another experience it is very difficult to keep him here.

"We are trying to improve to become one of the best teams in England and as a consequence in Europe but I think that I have to respect his decision.

"We played very well in the midfield. We lost our position in the centre part of the second half but we did well with the defensive line. Callum Hudson-Odoi did very well for 75 minutes and Ruben Loftus-Cheek did very well for 65 minutes."

Chelsea's Man of the Match Eden Hazard speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we played well. The game was not easy because West Ham are a great team. They created a bit of problems for us. But we did everything. We created a lot and scored two great goals.

On his first goal: "It was something special. I took the ball and then I tried to move forward. In the box it was hard for the defender to challenge me because if he touches me it could be a penalty.

"I was maybe a little lucky with the shot. I wanted to shoot quickly. When I saw the ball in the net I was just so happy. I am small so it is good when I play against tall players as it's very hard for them to change direction."

On West Ham fans singing that he is off to Real Madrid in the summer: "They are wrong. For now I am just focusing on Chelsea until the end of the season. I want to finish in the top four and do well in the Europa League. We still have a lot to do and then we will see.

"We are in good momentum. We have won three in a row. For the mentality, it is good to keep going. Top four and the Europa League is our target so we need to do well in both but we can do it."
