Arsenal end their club record 10-match winning home streak in the Premier League, by suffering their first home defeat since the 2-0 defeat against Man City on 12 August.

Liverpool goalscorer James Milner, speaking to Sky Sports: "Obviously I've got confidence in the boys and want them to do well, but it is a bit worse when you're watching from the side.

"I thought we were in control for the majority of the game, you have to stay patient. It's easy to be impatient and start playing the wrong way."

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum on Sky Sports: "It was warm, they didn't water the pitch but we dominated the game and had big chances before the break.

"We controlled the game, they had a big chance with Sean Morrison but the referee said it would have been a foul on Alisson anyway.

"It is always a relief at this time of the season to score, in our situation we know we have to win. I was really happy."

Liverpool have got the job done. I think they will be disappointed not to put their chances away in the first half but the quality came through for the set-piece.

Georginio Wijnaldum gave them the lead with a good goal and it was very comfortable after that.

Cardiff remain in the drop zone, three points from safety. Their fans loudly boo the officials as they come off.

Top drawer save from Neil Etheridge! Virgil van Dijk starts the move by waltzing out from the back, it's helped on for Mo Salah to run on and hook a volley into the corner, only for the former Walsall man to make a flying one-handed save.

Superb.

Can Arsenal nick a leveller? A fine cross from the right skips through the goalmouth and Vicente Guaita does really well to claw it away.

That penalty decision will be much discussed, without a doubt, But Sean Morrison got it all wrong...

I think it is a penalty. It is brainless defending and Sean Morrison has his arms all over Mohamed Salah.

HUGE moment.

That is stupid defending from Sean Morrison. Stupid.

Roberto Firmino charges down a clearance, the ball bounces into the path of Mo Salah, who runs into the area. He's not really going anywhere and surely Morrison should be thinking NO FOUL. He has both hands all over Salah for a good two or three seconds, and eventually the Egyptian goes down.

Yes, it was not the most physical of challenges. But really poor game sense from Morrison. He gave referee Martin Atkinson every chance to award a penalty there.
