Can't understand why Rodgers would want to leave Celtic for Leicester, other than money or background 'structures' at Celtic. Leicester a consistent midtable team where a Europa place push would be regarded a good season. Can win trophies at Celtic or surely could get into a bigger club?

"I have worked with Brendan, he is a very good coach. I am not surprised at the timing.

"From our point of view, we will keep an eye on it and see how it pans out. My focus is on Rangers."

Paul Skinback: I think LCFC have shown great character in pursuing a wonderful human being like Brendan. He'll get the young men working hard, scoring goals within no time so he will.

Richard Ashton: Great appointment for us if so. Will hopefully implement the brand of football Puel was trying to.

Brendan Rodgers could be Leicester's fourth permanent manager in 23 months after Claude Puel, Craig Shakespeare and 2015-16 Premier League-winning manager Claudio Ranieri.

The Foxes are 12th in the Premier League having lost five of their last six league games and play Brighton on Tuesday night.

Saturday's 4-1 defeat by Crystal Palace meant Leicester have lost four consecutive home Premier League games for the first time since January 2000 and conceded the first goal in 19 Premier League matches this season - more than any other side.

  10. Rodgers before Sunday's gamepublished at 09:32 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2019

Before Sunday's win over Motherwell, Brendan Rodgers insisted he was focused on his work at Celtic.

Rodgers is pursuing his third consecutive treble with Celtic, having won seven out of seven trophies since moving to Glasgow in 2016.

"My job is to concentrate on the football aspect, and that is with Celtic," Rodgers said.

"I've been stood here for two and a half years and I've been asked similar questions, my message is always very, very clear, I'm very concentrated on the game."

  11. Premier League return?published at 09:28 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2019

It would be a Premier League return for Brendan Rodgers, who managed Liverpool for three and a half years, almost winning the title in 2013-14.

They were top of the table with three games remaining, before losing out to Manchester City.

That season will forever be remembered for Steven Gerrard's slip against Chelsea as they lost 2-0 and blowing a 3-0 lead at Crystal Palace, as they drew 3-3.

Rodgers was sacked in October 2015 after a poor start to the season.

The Northern Irishman has also managed Watford, Reading and Swansea and was named the LMA Manager of the Year in 2014.
