  3. Spurs must step it uppublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

All a little bit after the opening ceremony.

Some pressure from Spurs towards the end of that half but not a great deal of quality on show and not a performance to fit the air of celebration before kick-off.

Danny Rose has his head in his hands. Been that sort of half for Spurs. Plenty of bright play but no way through yet...

Brilliant play by Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus and it's great technique by Leroy Sane. It's a huge blow and Pep Guardiola looks delighted. It's going to be tough for Cardiff now. Do they sit in after the break or try and score at the Etihad?

    Wonderful strike!

Gabriel Jesus redeems himself a touch with a really nice chested pass into the arc of Leroy Sane after a deep cross from the right, Sane's technique is immaculate as he clips the ball on the bounce, hard and low, ankle high, into the far corner.

  9. Postpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Indecisive from Danny Rose. It's a good chance for Spurs too as Son finds Rose running into space into the area, he should take it on and shoot but tries to pass to Harry Kane and the chance has gone.

Kane then heads wide. Spurs mounting pressure...

    Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Another brilliant pass from Dele Alli, playing deeper tonight and playing well. Clipped over the top and into the run of Christian Eriksen but not for the first time tonight he doesn't know what to do with it and ends up losing his footing.

    Man City 1-0 Cardiff

Got to score that! Manchester City have a counter-attack, four on two, and they don't bury it. Kevin de Bruyne leads the charge and feeds it to Gabriel Jesus, who should score but fires wide.

KDB is livid. Absolutely fuming. Jesus is having a wasteful evening...

    Olivier Giroud (38 mins)

Great finish! And an assist for Callum Hudson-Odoi too, too good for his man on the wing, dances past him and drives it in low to the near post, and Olivier Giroud just pokes his boot at the ball and clips it into the roof of the net. Clever, clever finish.

  14. 'Only 1-0'published at 20:23 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Man City 1-0 Cardiff

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

City are dominating possession but it's only 1-0, and as we have seen in the past, unless you get that second and third goal, you can never truly relax.

  15. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Spurs want a penalty as Wilfried Zaha and Ben Davies clash on the edge of the area, the Welshman came in on the blindside of the winger but there's no decision from referee Andre Marriner. Spurs then go close seconds later as Son has a shot but it's spilled into the side netting...

  16. Postpublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

Decent chance that! David Luiz's raking ball forwards is headed down but only to Eden Hazard, in a bit of space around the penalty spot, but he leans back and lashes over. Uncharacteristically rash from the brilliant Belgian.

  17. Postpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Man City 1-0 Cardiff

Phil Foden drives at the Cardiff defence, he wins a free-kick and actually Joe Ralls will be booked for that. Just a trip.

Kevin de Bruyne lines it up but it's Leroy Sane who bends it over the wall but over the bar as well.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20:18 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

Good again from Callum Hudson-Odoi, skipping past his man on the right wing and crossing for skipper Cesar Azpilicueta to head over the top.

  19. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

The first possible sign of dissent from the home crowd as a move breaks down, before Hugo Lloris makes a bit of a mess of a clearance. Spurs not at their sparkling best just yet.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

There is a change for Brighton but it's not Glenn Murray coming on. Anthony Knockaert replaces Solly March, who has picked up a knock.
