One more round of game before the split, although both halves of the table are now decided.

Here's how the action looks on Saturday, starting with an Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle.

The battle at the bottom is hotting up and Hamilton v St Mirren will not be for the faint-hearted.

It's worth staying up to see Niall McGinn's second goal at Pittodrie - an absolute belter.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson tells Sportsound he can't fault his players' effort and committment.

"First half we dominated large parts," he says. "They scored an incredibly lucky goal which makes it an uphill task but the players showed character with a good goal but we started the second half going long which played into their hands. By the time we started playing again it was too late.

"We lacked decisions in the final third in the second half. It wasn’t to be I can’t fault the boys effort and commitment."

A bit more from St Mirren manager Oran Kearney, who tells BBC Sportsound he's a relieved man not to have lost any ground in the relegation scrap.

"You try and stay in the game for as long as possible," he says.

"We had two or three good chances when it was 1-0. On nights like this, it's important to take them.

"We'd have liked to take something from the game but to come out all even in the league is good for us.

"Disappointed we haven't taken those chances but when you look at the other games there could have been an awful lot more damage inflicted.

"Rest, recharge and recovery starts now and we set out stall out for Saturday."

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is a happy man after a first home win in the league this year.

"I thought it was a strong performance," he tells BBC Sportsound. "I thought we had plenty of chances to get our second goal at 1-0. We were fortuitous with our first goal but we’ll take it. Motherwell had decent possession around the halfway line with their centre-halves splitting and making it difficult to get the press on.

"When we did press them we looked a real threat on the counter attack. There’s good speed and energy in the team. Other than Hastie scoring a very good goal Joe Lewis has had nothing to do."

"The third goal was the icing on the cake.Getting three points at home was vitally important."

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard on Rangers TV: "We made it comfortable with the way we started the game. I thought we were excellent.

"We came out the blocks, played with energy, intensity and we passed the ball very well - and Hearts found it very difficult to live with us.

"We came off the gas a little bit at 2-0 up to half-time. We were pleased with the clean sheet at half-time and the lead we had and I was so happy with the lads going into the second half and killing the game off.

"I thought our game management was really good. We got sloppy in the last 20 minutes, but I would have probably predicted that before the game with the shift they put in with 10 men at Celtic Park."

Kilmarnock assistant Alex Dyer is filling in for under-the-weather Steve Clarke when it comes to analysis tonight.

"Two good sides trying to beat one another and we had a couple of good chances in the game and good periods where we dominated," he says. "Just picking the wrong passes at the end of the day. Poor finishing in the end did for us really.

"We’ve watched Hibs closely, they’ve improved and aren’t as open as they used to be. They play off a good shape and we knew coming here it was going to be a difficult game but we equipped ourselves well, worked hard and controlled the game very well at times and I thought that we should’ve won.

"We just want to finish as high as we can, we’re in a good position at the moment."

Hamilton Academical boss Brian Rice is pretty angry at his side's defending in their meek loss to Livingston.

"Disappointed in the two goals we gave away. We shot ourselves in the foot. We beat ourselves tonight," he tells BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound.

"We stood up to Livingston's physically, dealt with their long throws, free-kicks, corners, which you have to do, and two lapses in concentration by our defenders cost us the match.

"Our quality on the ball was poor a lot of the time - we'll need to work hard on that but we've got what we've got at the minute.

"We had a frank, open chat [in the dressing room after the match]. Asking questions and trying to get answers. Encouraging them. I'm getting plenty back from the players, but it's easy to talk about things, you've got to go on the pitch and turn the words into actions. We're all great talkers - actions speak louder."

Hibernian manager Paul Heckingbottom tells BBC Scotland there are "a lot of positives" to take from their "tough" goalless draw with Kilmarnock but they'll need to be "quicker and sleeker" now they know they'll be battling it out in the top six.

"It was evident there was a lot of experience out there, with good decisions at good times," he says. "They’re obviously set up really well by Steve [Clarke] and they knew how to make it difficult for us.

"We’ve got to get used to that if we’re going to continue on a good run or play football that makes teams respect us that little bit more.

"We knew chances would be at a premium and we weren’t quite clinical enough with the finish or more often than not with that final pass."

He added that there is a few "bumps and bruises" to contend with but his players will be ready for the Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle and "the adrenaline will kick in" come Saturday.

Dundee manager Jim McIntyre tells BBC Sportsound: "That's been the story of our season, we've not been good enough in both boxes. We create a couple of great chances and have to score, especially when you're on the run we are.

"And we have to defend better, particularity the first goal which is just a ball to the back post and we drop a runner who scores. St Johnstone showed a ruthlessness which we didn't have.

"The one crumb of comfort is we haven't lost any ground at the bottom of the table."

Livingston manager Gary Holt has guided the West Lothian side to Premiership safety.

"We wanted to get 40 points, we’ve got 41, now how many can we get? These lads don’t know when to stop. They want to keep achieving," Holt told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound.

"I’m over the moon for the lads, the work they’ve put in to get to that mark with six games to go. On chances alone, we thoroughly deserved the win.

"We'll be in tomorrow morning, recover and prepare to go to Celtic on Saturday. Probably for the first time this season, there'll be no pressure on us, we're not going there to lie down and let them get their victory parade going - we're going there with a game plan to get three points."

Celtic manager Neil Lennon on the smoke bomb incident...

"From our standpoint at the club we don't want pyrotechnics, fireworks, bangers, flares in the stadium. I'm just hoping that the St Mirren goalkeeper is all right. Health and safety of the players is paramount. And I don't think it's a necessity that anyone needs in the stadium.

"It doesn't serve any purpose. It may have hurt somebody and it puts a delay in the game that you don't need."

Celtic boss Neill Lennon tells BBC Sportsound he is "delighted with a strong performance and another clean sheet".

"It's another step towards the title," he says.

"A little bit of complacency crept in. Against any opposition it's always difficult when it's 1-0 but after the second goal we could sit back and relax. I was delighted with the players that came on who all put in very solid performances."

The manager suggests that Odsonne Edouard will be back on penalties when in the starting line-up after Olivier Ntcham's first-half miss.

He also has strong words of condemnation for those who threw the fireworks on the pitch.

St Mirren manager Oran Kearney tells BBC Sportsound that goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky is "a little bit shaken but okay" after a smoke bomb was thrown onto the pitch in the aftermath of Celtic's second goal.

"It's landed close to him and the sound from where I was 50 yards away was loud," he adds.

"We're just glad it's nothing more sinister."

Not that there was much doubt, but tonight’s result means Livi are in no danger of being sucked into the relegation play-off spot, never mind the automatic relegation spot. What a fine season it’s been for Gary Holt’s men and now the task is to consolidate in the top flight.

Ryan Hardie and Craig Halkett were the scorers, two players the Lions will have to do without next season, unless they get Hardie on loan from Rangers again. Halkett is Hearts-bound.

The less said about Hamilton’s performance, the better. Lacklustre.

After all that, there's only been one change in the Premiership table, with St Johnstone leapfrogging Motherwell into seventh spot.

Aberdeen are now level with Kilmarnock in third and Hibs creep to within one point of Hearts before Saturday's derby at Tynecastle.

The league split is confirmed with a round of games to go.

That's it. Full-time at Pittodrie, where Aberdeen have their first league win of 2019 thanks to Niall McGinn's ferocious strike. They regained their composure after Jake Hastie cancelled out Max Lowe's opener, and ultimately, deserve their win. McGinn put the icing on the cake deep in to injury time, with a superb curling effort.

Motherwell's hopes of a top-six finish are also over, with Stephen Robinson's side having to settle for a place in the bottom half of the league.

Celtic take another step towards retaining the Premiership title as they see off relegation-threatened St Mirren at the Simple Digital Arena. But it wasn't a straightforward night for the champions.

Should Celtic defeat Livingston on Saturday, Rangers would need at least a point away to Motherwell the following day to keep the title race alive.

Timothy Weah's header crashed off the crossbar and bounced over the line, his fourth goal since joining on loan from PSG.

Olivier Ntcham had a penalty saved in the first half, but substitute Ryan Christie found a late second to make the points safe.

With Rangers beating Hearts at Ibrox the gap at the top remains at 13 points with just six games left to play.

Defeats for Hamilton and Dundee leave St Mirren's position unchanged in second-bottom as they fight to avoid the drop.
