Everton manager Marco Silva told Sky Sports: "We lost confidence earlier in the season in some moments but we reacted as a team and we have finished the season in the right way.

"We have finished well and next season we have to put our targets high. When the fans realise how important they can be for us then we are really strong here at Goodison.

"The players have been doing well and we have finished in the right way. The last 10 games we have had eight clean sheets and have been playing offensive football.

"The players have been enjoying what they are doing and we have achieved three points again and we want three more points next week (at Tottenham)."

Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche was asked about a physical tackle between Ashley Westwood and Morgan Schneiderlin, where both players got up and played on.

"Two people trying to win the ball, two fair players. It was refreshing. It’s going out of the game. It used to be the norm. There has to be a better balance to be found with diving all over the place."

On whether they'll play better on the final day.

"You’d hope so – at home against Arsenal. The fans have been terrific. Even early season when things were against us, they backed the team well.

"When confidence is low and players are not performing, it was a massive shift to start doing well."

Burnley manager Sean Dyche to BBC Sport: "In terms of our performance, it was a game of two halves. We started sluggishly. We’ve climbed a mountain in the second half of the season. We’re safe, with not too much to play for.

"It was a good reaction in the second half. We conceded two soft goals by our standards. I won’t over-question the players after what they’ve done in the second half of the season but we didn’t do enough to win the game.

"The reward of what they’ve done in the second half of the season is obvious, making sure our Premier League place is assured. To expect them to keep on with every inch is a strange feeling. All that tightness keeps you sharp. We didn’t start with that. To us 1% is a big difference – we need all our players to be 100%."

Burnley were already mathematically safe. Job well done for Sean Dyche?

Burnley defender Ben Mee: "We didn't get going and they started strong, they are two poor goals to concede. We couldn't get out of our half.

"It's not an easy place to play, the crowd were up and we found it difficult. We were off it for the first 30 minutes or so. I try and get in the way of every shot and it took it in unfortunately.

"The lads have ben fantastic, it's been a big effort and we want to see the season out strong."
