Murray Davidson bursts into the St Mirren box and sends a right-foot shot a yard wide of the left-hand post when he really should have at least hit the target. Davidson complains to the referee he was pulled back but his penalty pleas are ignored.

Scott Robinson's shot deflects up and appears to hit the arm of Hamilton defender Scott McMann but the Livingston man's penalty appeal proves fruitless.

St Mirren almost break the deadlock as Mateo Muzek robs Michael O'Halloran on the edge of the St Johnstone box. He smashes in a shot that Zander Clark, going the wrong way, somehow gets a hand to and sends the ball behind for a corner. O'Halloran will be hugely relieved.
