  1. Big incentive for Buddiespublished at 14:50

St Mirren v St Johnstone (15:00)

St Mirren can all but guarantee they won't finish bottom if they win today and Dundee lose at Motherwell. That would give the second-bottom Buddies a nine-point cushion - and superior goal difference of at least 12 - over Dundee with three games left.

Last week's 3-1 success at Livingston was St Mirren's first away win in eight leagues games and boosted their bid to move out of the relegation play-off spot as they moved within two points of Hamilton.

They haven't won back-to-back matches in the top flight this season and to do it this afternoon they'll have to get the better of bogey team St Johnstone.

Tommy Wright's team have won all three meetings this term without conceding a goal. The Perth Saints cruised to victory over Dundee last weekend and sit best of the rest in seventh place with only pride to play for in their remaining games.

  2. Lennon hails 'perfect' daypublished at 134:49

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Kilmarnock

Interim Celtic manager Neil Lennon tells BBC Radio Scotland that it ended a "perfect" day for his side as they marked the death of legend Billy McNeill before moving within touching distance of another Scottish title.

"I think Billy would have been delighted," he says. "He would have been delighted with the centre-halves, both of them, their performance, the clean sheet and obviously the number five getting the winner. It couldn't have turned out any better.

Neil Lennon says there was a lot of pressure on an emotional day for Celtic

"It was emotional and a lot of pressure on the game, but we've overcome it again and the boys just keep going and it's a magnificent three points.

"I wasn't happy with the first half. Second half, a lot better, a lot more purpose to our play and attacking intent and I felt the goal was coming and it did."

  3. Hastie missing for 'Wellpublished at 14:46

    Motherwell v Dundee (15:00)

No Jake Hastie in Motherwell's 18-man squad this afternoon. I understand that he has agreed to join Rangers in the summer on a pre-contract.

I'm told that the reason he's not in the team today is because he's had a lot on his plate the last few weeks. His form's not been as good, so manager Stephen Robinson has decided to give him a break.

Looking ahead to the promotion play-offs, Ayr United manager Ian McCall has provided some updates on injured players. Striker Craig Moore is definitely out for the season. Defender/midfielder Steven Bell has a stress fracture and is out for the rest of the season. Defender Jamie Adams is likely to be out for rest of the season. Striker Lawrence Shankland has bone bruising and will hopefully play 45 minutes against Alloa next week.

  5. Accies change things up, Livi bring in Odoffinpublished at 14:42

    Hamilton v Livingston (15:00)

Hamilton Academical make four changes to their team for today's match against Livingston with Ryan Fulton replacing Gary Woods in goal, Alex Gogic taking over from Matthew Kilgallon in defence and George Oakley and Marios Ogboe starting in place of Steve Davies and David McMillan. Davies and McMillan drop to the bench.

Just one change for Livi with Hakeem Odoffin in for the suspended Craig Halkett.

Last night's thumping win for Ross County over Queen of the South not only secured the title for the Dingwall side but heightened the visitors' relegation fears.

The Dumfries outfit remain third bottom but are only ahead of Alloa Athletic, who occupy the relegation play-off spot, thanks to goal difference but have now played a game more.

The Wasps today host an Inverness Caledonian Thistle side who have already secured their place in the promotion play-offs.

Queens' defeat will give renewed hope to Falkirk, three points adrift at the foot of the table as they travel to face Dundee United, whose fate as runners-up is now sealed.

Six teams, two rounds of matches, one relegation fight

Six teams are separated by six points as the battle to avoid relegation from the Scottish Championship enters its final stretch. But who is going down?

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Kilmarnock

    Jonathan Sutherland
    BBC Sport Scotland

On a day of high emotion perhaps fitting that with 67 minutes on the clock Celtic’s current number 5 scores the winner on the day Celtic paid tribute to their iconic number 5.

That will be the headline to this important win for Celtic, but there was plenty more to the story of this match.

Kilmarnock will be so frustrated they squandered several fantastic opportunities to go ahead in the first half. They also competed all the way to the end of this game - there was always a tension amongst the home support.

Celtic still to find their flow, but they have the victory.

The tempo in the second half [from Celtic] was up a bit. How fitting is it that Jozo Simunovic the number 5, got the goal? You've got to give Kilmarnock credit for the way they approached the game.
