Well, Murphy must have upped his game this week because the winger has made a flying start to this match.

  10. 'I'm a bit sad... you're bound to feel sad'published at 17:24 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

Cardiff v Crystal Palace (17:30 BST)

    Cardiff City

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock: "We've got to win this game. If we don't we can forget it, so we've got to concentrate on that really.

"We always give effort and sometimes we are a bit limited. But with two games to go we're still in it.

"I'm a bit sad. You're bound to feel a bit sad. One or two more points would see us in a different situation. I think we may have accepted where we are at the beginning of the season. We'll give it our best shot against Palace."

  11. 'We have a desire to win this game'published at 17:23 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

Cardiff v Crystal Palace (17:30 BST)

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson: "There is no doubt they [Cardiff] have been good at home this season and had some good results, and they have been unlucky at times. They have done very well as a club to still be in the fight with two games left.

"We have to expect a very motivated team, a team that will give its all to cling to the last chances of staying in the league, and hoping they can win while Brighton don't. We have a desire to win the game as well."

  12. Head-to-head...published at 17:21 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

Cardiff v Crystal Palace (17:30 BST)

    • Cardiff have failed to score in all three previous Premier League meetings, losing twice and drawing the other.
    • The Bluebirds have won only one of their last five league matches against Palace (D1, L3), a 2-1 home Championship triumph in 2012.
    • However, the Eagles have recorded just one victory in their previous nine trips to Cardiff (D4, L4).
  13. 'It's a special season'published at 17:20 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    West Ham 3-0 Southampton

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini speaking to Match of the Day: "Very pleased. The team continued to play as we have in the last three games and the best way to finish was to win our last game at home here.

"It's a special season because we started so bad. We knew it wouldn't be easy but we had so many players with injuries - a lot of players that couldn't play but maybe they will give us the plus we need to improve for next season.

"For me it's a good season, a consistent season, we are not fighting relegation, but not only in the table but in the stadium too I think a lot of people are happy."

  14. The maths...published at 17:18 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

If Cardiff lose today, they are relegated. If they draw, there is still hope for Neil Warnock's side but they will be relying on Brighton to not pick up a point in their final two games - against Arsenal and Manchester City.

However, even a draw against Crystal Palace would leave the Bluebirds three points behind their nearest relegation rivals and with a significantly worse goal difference.

They would then need to beat Manchester United on the final day of the season to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.

  15. 'Parker is the right man for the job'published at 17:16 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Wolves 1-0 Fulham

    Fulham

Fulham captain Tom Cairney speaking to the Premier League: "There wasn’t anything in the game. The boss talked about margins, we made a mistake and the next minute the ball is in the net. We have been on a good run and we could have nicked it today."

One whether Scott Parker should be appointed permanent manager: "I think I’ve said for a long time that Scott has done an incredible job and in my eyes he is the right man for the job.

"I believe he is the man to take us forward. The manager and staff have worked hard in the short time they have been with us and made a big difference."

On his new contract: I’m delighted to extend my stay, it’s felt like home for a long time and even though we are relegated I want to bounce back straight away and get Fulham back in the Premier League.

"We have a lot of quality in the dressing room and it’s just about bringing it out. The manager has done that so hopefully we can show it next season."

  16. 'Survival has cost us a lot of energy'published at 17:15 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    West Ham 3-0 Southampton

    Southampton

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl speaking to Sky Sports: "The last very hard four or five months has cost us a lot of energy for this team and we didn't have enough energy to fight back after a horrible mistake in the first half.

"We tried but the team has invested a lot in trying to stay in the league and the power was a little bit gone.

"We had a few good chances but today it was the last good decision in front of goal, the power to score wasn't here - I think the concentration wasn't 100%, it looks like this.

"I think it is clear if you come here in a tough game after investing a lot in the last weeks and concede the first goal it takes a lot of energy to fight back - we didn't have that today."

  17. 'Hopefully we can improve'published at 17:13 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    West Ham 3-0 Southampton

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini speaking to Sky Sports: "We played a good game and won the last game at home for our fans. From the first minute we tried to win.

"The important thing is when you replace players they players you bring in play well. I'm happy with my squad. The team is in good shape, it's a transition season, we did well and had so many injured players. Hopefully we can improve for next season."

  18. 'Cardiff need two wins'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

Cardiff v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

The first part of the only realistic equation which would see Cardiff avoid relegation is that they must win both their remaining games: Palace at home and Manchester United away. Then Brighton must fail to earn more than one point in their last two games - at Arsenal and at home to Manchester City.

However, Cardiff have only won back-to-back Premier League games once this season and they haven't won at Old Trafford since 1954.

Palace deserve credit for assuring safety with something to spare but they're an unexceptional side, over-reliant on Wilfred Zaha - who clearly intends to leave them.

With four years of his contract to run, Palace can call the shots on that one. But Zaha will be keen to impress at Cardiff, where he had an almost instantly forgettable loan spell five years ago.
