    AFC Fylde 0-1 Salford

Danny Bradley's low strike from distance is AFC Fylde's best effort since the opening minute.

It flashes past the far post, but Salford keeper Chris Neal appeared to have it covered - he wasn't overly scrambling to get down to it!

Shortly after Danny Rowe blazes one way over the Salford bar from around 25 yards out.

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Salford

So close to a second for Salford!

Ibou Touray's corner is floated towards the back post and Nathan Pond's diving header is just wide of the far post.

Salford's co-owners will be happy with the scoreline but wouldn't mind a second goal to create some daylight, I'm sure.

A few boos ring out for Fylde substitute Nick Haughton.

The midfielder made three starts for Salford at the beginning of the season before making the switch to Mill Farm.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Salford

AFC Fylde are forced into a change before the midway point of this first half.

It's a day Luke Burke will want to forget as he comes off with a hamstring injury, having been unlucky enough to be the man who blocked his team-mate's clearance into the path of Salford's goalscorer.

He is replaced by former Salford player Nick Haughton.

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Salford

The omens do not look good for AFC Fylde - third versus fifth is the most common play-off final combination, and each time that has happened the third-placed side has won.

    Salford finished third this season...

    Salford take the lead!

Devonte Redmond's free-kick from the left side of the box is cleared by Danny Rowe, but it hits the back of Luke Burke and Emmanuel Dieseruvwe has the easiest of finishes seven yards out, tucking the ball into the far corner.

Salford give away a free-kick on the edge of their own area and Nathan Pond goes in the book for it.

But Danny Rowe's effort goes straight into the wall.

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Salford

Close for Salford. Scott Wiseman fires from 25 yards out in a central area after a long throw is headed away.

But the Gibraltar international's low effort skims past the far post and out for a goal kick.

  11. Postpublished at 7 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Salford

Concern here for AFC Fylde as Luke Burke goes down with what looks like a hamstring injury.

The physios are working on him now, but it doesn't look great for him, although it seems as though he will try to run it off.

  12. Postpublished at 5 mins

Alex Reid has another half-chance for Fylde.

Luke Burke gets in down the right and slides the ball back to the forward, but his attempt is blocked by a defender.

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 0 mins

The teams have been paraded onto the pitch, met the dignitaries and sung the national anthem.

But now the formalities are over, it's time for kick-off, with Salford getting us under way in a sparsely populated Wembley Stadium.

  17. Fylde hope for another Salford winpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 11 May 2019

AFC Fylde v Salford (15:00 BST)

AFC Fylde won the most recent meeting between the two clubs, prevailing 1-0 at Salford on 22 April.

Manager Dave Challinor told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I don't think it [the win] hinders us, I don't think it affects the game, what it does is give our players the belief and knowhow.

"Certainly off the ball and out of possession, we'll have to do similar things. The surface and the pitch at Wembley will help us do that.

"When we played at Salford the pitch was dry and bumpy. Hopefully the surface at Wembley will be immaculate so it will help us on that front."

News of Adam Rooney’s failed late fitness test hasn’t affected the noise levels from the Salford fans. I’d say they outnumber the Fylde supporters by two to one here.

We’ve just had Jerusalem belted out on the PA system, followed by '(Is this the way to) Amarillo?' All tastes catered for, then.

Fylde keep faith with the same starting side and substitutes that won 1-0 at Solihull Moors in the semi-final.

Salford are forced into one change from the side which on their semi-final - star striker Adam Rooney is out with injury after pulling a muscle taking a penalty in their shootout win over Eastleigh, so Danny Whitehead comes in.

AFC Fylde: Lynch, Francis-Angol, Byrne, Rowe, Bond, Tunnicliffe, Croasdale, Philliskirk, Burke, Bradley, Reid.

Salford City: Neal, Wiseman, Touray, Mafuta, Piergianni, Hogan, Maynard, Redmond, Whitehead, Pond, Dieseruvwe.

  20. Big-spending Salford rise above criticismpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 11 May 2019

AFC Fylde v Salford (15:00 BST)

Salford's high-profile owners and relative big-spending on players has made them something of a target this season.

Asked whether any criticism aimed towards the club came as a surprise, manager Graham Alexander told BBC North West Tonight: "I know it goes on in football at all levels but it's probably something we hadn't prepared ourselves for.

"It's all part of the game and brings a different atmosphere away from home. It's never boring, there's always an edge to them so that's part of the challenge we face and we enjoy it."
