Kyle Walker should not be letting Memphis Depay inside on his left foot, but he doesn't really get any power on it and it's a comfortable save for Jordan Pickford.

Raheem Sterling has only had five touches so far. England need to get their skipper in the game - and Marcus Rashford nearly does actually, but the flag goes up.

Lots of carelessness in possession from both England and the Netherlands - pitch seems a bit difficult after getting such a soaking but not much quality on show so far.

Lovely to see, a full-back properly taking on his man. Ben Chilwell skins Denzel Dumfries on the outside and the the wardrobe-like defender just steps across and blocks him off. Dumfries lucky to not be booked there, but he deserves it for having such a great name.

Ben Chilwell, 40s throwback, pumps the ball down the line, but it's plenty of Dutch possession for the moment. The men in orange look the more likely, although England won't mind hitting on the break with their greyhound front three.

Gary: Kane’s relegation to the bench is a strong call but sends a clear message that there are no celebrity favourites. Well done, Gareth Southgate.

Interesting that Declan Rice is dropping back between the two centre-backs at times, a proper quarterback/sweeper role. Memphis Depay then sums up his maverick status by taking a great touch with his back to goal to wriggle away from cover, and then look up and spank/slice a left-footed pass clean out of play, a good 20 yards behind the overlapping Daley Blind.

From sublime to ridiculous inside three seconds.

England get so lucky. Two players go for the same ball and the Netherlands are two v one, but Memphis Depay delays his shot too long and the chance is gone.

Chance! The Netherlands make a mess of a clear break away. I think it was Declan Rice who lost the ball, Gini Wijnaldum drove away and played in Memphis Depay on the left of the area, he should get a shot away but tries to come inside the last defender and loses out.

England look a bit ragged in transition.

First 10 gone. No real chances for either side but plenty to enjoy so far. It's a slick, slippy pitch.

All the play for England is coming down the Dutch left-hand side. You look at that battle between Daley Blind and Raheem Sterling and I just wonder if the former Manchester United defender can live with the England captain tonight?

Harry Maguire loses the ball on one of those driving runs forwards, that's dangerous, Steven Bergwijn chops inside on to his left foot and shoots early from 18 yards but it's tame and easy for Jordan Pickford to field it.
