Jordan Pickford has made five saves tonight - only against Netherlands in March 2018 (six) has he made more in a single match for England.

He hasn't had to do anything too extraordinary though. The Dutch have played lots of neat stuff without really hurting England. Though they do now have a corner...

Donny van de Beek, who was superb whenever I saw him last season, is ready to come on for the Dutch, who now have a lengthy spell of possession. England go very 4-5-1 out of possession. Hard to break down.

Chances at both ends and an increase in tempo from England and the Netherlands - suddenly we have an open game and Jadon Sancho had to do better with that opportunity.

England have improved after the break. Sharper to the ball. Harry kane does well down the left, powers past two defenders but he loses it when he could have put a cross in. Feed it in early.

Jadon Sancho has to score. The cross from Ben Chilwell was right on the money. Sancho must be six yards out but he heads it straight at Jasper Cillessen.

Kyle Walker now with an error, tries to run away from Memphis Depay who takes it off him, he then shoots from 20 yards and Jordan Pickford bats it clear.

Very entertaining, if full of mistakes, this.

Should score! The corner is cleared, goes back out left and when Fabian Delph crosses brilliantly, Jadon Sancho is free inside the goalmouth but can only head straight at Jasper Cillessen.

Touch! John Stones lofts a ball to halfway, Jadon Sancho's touch is marvellous to start an attack which ends with Virgil van Dijk taking a heavy touch, much to the delight of the massed England fans.

Corner ball.

Harry Maguire slashes a shot/cross into the goalmouth from that free-kick but it's well dealt with. Steven Bergwijn then motors down the right and Ben Chilwell comes across, it's a bit of a hefty tackle - penalty?!

The referee says goal-kick and VAR doesn't intervene...
