An orange wave of pressure since that Jadon Sancho header. England have barely had a touch in the last 10 minutes.

  2. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Netherlands 0-1 England

England pretty much retreating back into their shape full-time at the moment. What can the Dutch do about this? They don't look like getting behind England. England grinding out a win as it stands.

  3. What are you doing later?published at 63 mins

    Netherlands 0-1 England

We would have extra-time and penalties if it ends level, by the way.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 61 mins

Jadon Sancho, who showed glimpses of his promise but should have scored, comes off and Jesse Lingard comes on.

    Netherlands 0-1 England

Jordan Pickford has made five saves tonight - only against Netherlands in March 2018 (six) has he made more in a single match for England.

He hasn't had to do anything too extraordinary though. The Dutch have played lots of neat stuff without really hurting England. Though they do now have a corner...

I reckon Kane has a point to prove against van Dijk after the Champions League final.

    Netherlands 0-1 England

Donny van de Beek, who was superb whenever I saw him last season, is ready to come on for the Dutch, who now have a lengthy spell of possession. England go very 4-5-1 out of possession. Hard to break down.

  10. Opening up in Guimaraespublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 6 June 2019

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Guimaraes

Chances at both ends and an increase in tempo from England and the Netherlands - suddenly we have an open game and Jadon Sancho had to do better with that opportunity.

Dennis: What a waste by Sancho! A clear free header and he just nods to the Keeper. The quality of the cross was certainly amazing

JoeD: How does Southgate justify bringing on Harry Kane? He was woeful & completely unfit in champions league final (only 26 touches)

Miggmaester: I do not like the way ENG are set up, giving away too much possession and not challenging for second balls.

    Netherlands 0-1 England

England have improved after the break. Sharper to the ball. Harry kane does well down the left, powers past two defenders but he loses it when he could have put a cross in. Feed it in early.

    Netherlands 0-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's good now, there is still a decent tempo about the game but it is very open.

  14. 'Straight at Cillessen'published at 21:01 British Summer Time 6 June 2019

    Netherlands 0-1 England

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Jadon Sancho has to score. The cross from Ben Chilwell was right on the money. Sancho must be six yards out but he heads it straight at Jasper Cillessen.

    Netherlands 0-1 England

Kyle Walker now with an error, tries to run away from Memphis Depay who takes it off him, he then shoots from 20 yards and Jordan Pickford bats it clear.

Very entertaining, if full of mistakes, this.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 54 mins

    Netherlands 0-1 England

Should score! The corner is cleared, goes back out left and when Fabian Delph crosses brilliantly, Jadon Sancho is free inside the goalmouth but can only head straight at Jasper Cillessen.

    Golden chance!

  17. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Netherlands 0-1 England

Touch! John Stones lofts a ball to halfway, Jadon Sancho's touch is marvellous to start an attack which ends with Virgil van Dijk taking a heavy touch, much to the delight of the massed England fans.

    Corner ball.

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 51 mins

    Netherlands 0-1 England

Harry Maguire slashes a shot/cross into the goalmouth from that free-kick but it's well dealt with. Steven Bergwijn then motors down the right and Ben Chilwell comes across, it's a bit of a hefty tackle - penalty?!

The referee says goal-kick and VAR doesn't intervene...

  19. Postpublished at 50 mins

Ross Barkley wins a free-kick - he scored twice in England's last game and has been their brightest midfielder so far. England fans in good voice.
