Aston Villa v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

Villa's last Premier League home game finished goalless. It was a dismal match with Newcastle - enlivened only by the throwing of beach balls onto the pitch by angry fans.

What a difference 1,197 days make! Villa Park will be packed, with the Holte Enders expecting to be put sky high by a win against a side that tends not to travel well.

Beset by injury problems, Bournemouth will have to battle hard in these early weeks, but as Eddie Howe has said and his team has often proved: "When we're clicking we can win any game."

For Villa, it's a case of how soon their TEN players new to the club can click together.

    Here are their thoughts...

  3. 'Adrian's ankle had swollen up like an elephant's'published at 14:47 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Southampton v Liverpool (15:00 BST)

    Chris Wise
BBC Radio 5 Live at St Mary's

Have been watching Adrian's pre-match warm up on the South Coast. For what it's worth, the Liverpool goalkeeper isn't showing any ill-effects of that freak ankle injury picked up in Istanbul.

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media at the stadium in the last hour. He said Adrian's recovery has been ‘remarkable' because his ankle had 'swollen up like an elephant's'.

  4. The Premier League's newest rivalry?published at 14:44 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Everton v Watford (15:00 BST)

Everton and Watford may not be one of the traditional great Premier League rivalries - but the clubs meet at Goodison Park on Saturday for a fixture that has had inflatable snakes, threats of legal action and even Kelly Clarkson played in anger as its recent backdrop.

Sounds interesting right? You can read the full story here.

  5. Lawro's predictionpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Norwich v Newcastle (15:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Ex-Liverpool defender

Norwich are dangerous but I do worry about them - they scored lots of goals in the Championship last season, but they conceded a load too.

If they are going to be as open as they were at Anfield when they play at home as well, then they are going to get some beatings.

    Prediction: 1-2

  6. Lawro's predictionpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Everton v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Ex-Liverpool defender

Everyone at Goodison Park is anticipating a better campaign, with better football, and I would back them to get the win here.

    Prediction: 2-0

Brighton v West Ham (15:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Ex-Liverpool defender

I am going to go for a draw here. West Ham were beaten heavily by Manchester City last week and I am expecting to see a reaction from them.

    Prediction: 1-1

Aston Villa put in a decent performance for long periods against Tottenham and the way they have to look at that defeat is to think that not many teams will go there and get anything.

What happens here will be a much better signal of where this Villa team is at, and I am expecting them to kick on and get their first win of the season.

    Prediction: 2-1

Nope. A Burnley counter attack is stopped by Ashley Barnes fouling an Arsenal defender in the home half - and that sees the Gunners over the line.

Two from two for Arsenal. First time that has happened in a decade.
