Absolutely great header. It was a lovely ball in. At first I thought it was Virgil van Dijk but it was Joël Matip. I am so pleased for the lad, he has done so well. How that will affect Arsenal, we will just have to see. Will they attack now or will they wait until half time?

    Joel Matip

    First blood to Liverpool!

Joel Matip powers home a header from a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner. Its all good with VAR too despite some shirt grabbing inside the area and Liverpool have the breakthrough just before the break.

Arsenal did well to hold out for so long but the pressure eventually told.

Pace. Threat. This is Nicolas Pepe's first half performance, He is a real livelwire but just cannot find the finish at presence. At first glance a proper handful.

Peter Collins: Have Arsenal finally learned how teams have beaten them for all these years? Sit back, defend, pounce on the mistakes? May not work (Liverpool are rather good), but refreshing to see.

Gary West: Arsenal's game plan has actually worked quite well, shame their inability to finish it is hurting them

You have to have a bit of quality out there. Jordan Henderson should not have allowed himself to get sucked in and make the challenge and all of a sudden Nicolas Pepe is in with a chance. The goalkeeper did really well, He stayed on his feet. I thought with the quality of the player, he would have buried that.

  8. VAR

The VAR check is over and, unsurprisingly, there is no red card. Very odd incident.

In comes the Liverpool corner, Arsenal clear and break! Nicolas Pépé is lightning quick as he skips past Andy Robertson but the finish is poor as he pokes it straight at Adrian.

Arsenal concentrating fiercely at the back but living dangerous in possession near their own goal. Liverpool fans getting a little frustrated but their team currently on top.

The animation of Unai Emery almost making Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp look statuesque.

It has felt like it has been all Liverpool but the possession statistics are bit more even. Almost all the action taking place in the Arsenal half, though.

I am very surprised it is still 0-0 if I am honest. Both teams have had chances. It has been a very open game and it is probably not what we thought it would be. Arsenal are not sitting back, they look like they want to win the game.

Lovely footwork by Roberto Firmino to turn his man. The Liverpool forward gets a shot off but it is blocked.

As things stand, it will take a Crystal Palace-esque smash and grab for Arsenal to keep the run of away wins in the Premier League going today.

Femi John Atoyebi: A hat-trick of goalkeeping errors in one day? Kepa, de Gea and potentially Adrian?

Dan: I don't care if Alisson has to play with a cast on his leg, surely that's a much safer option than the calamitous Adrian??!!

Dangerous, dangerous football from Dani Ceballos.

He tries to play out from the back but instead ends up playing a perfect cross into his own box for Sadio Mane. The striker lines up his shot as Arsenal players scramble but, fortunately for the visitors, hits his effort too close to Bernd Leno.

Ceballos holds his hand up in recognition of his error. Arsenal got away with that one.
