Nathan House: On this performance anyone who believes Man United will make the top 4 need their heads testing. Teams that qualify for the top 4 win games like Palace at home. Awful so far. No idea whatsoever.

AbhieSpeaks: I think Ole is a little too much into this giving youth a chance. This game is crying for creativity and our answer was Lingard.

Rob M: I think Pogba would have scored that penalty!!

  3. WHAT A SAVE!published at 16:33 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

    Sheffield Utd 1-2 Leicester

The best save of the season so far - without a shadow of a doubt.

John Lundstram is halfway to celebrating equalising with his side-foot volley but Foxes captain Kasper Schmeichel dives to his left to make a remarkable save.

    Sébastien Haller (73 mins)

    Lovely finish by Sébastien Haller.

Ben Foster tips a shot onto the bar but the ball rebounds back into the middle of the box and Haller pulls off an overhead kick to send the ball into the back of the net.

He did everything right. He wraps his right foot round it with a lot of pace but it hits the post. Is it Crystal Palace's day?

  6. Pepe starts, Lacazette on benchpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

    Liverpool v Arsenal (17:30 BST)

Two changes apiece for Liverpool and Arsenal.

Fabinho and Jordan Henderson come into the Liverpool midfield, with James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain making way. One to look out for - 20-year-old keeper Caoimhin Kelleher is on the bench, having never made a senior appearance.

The big news for Arsenal is that Nicolas Pepe makes his first start, preferred ahead of Alexandre Lacazette, who is on the bench. Granit Xhaka returns, with Reiss Nelson missing out.

  9. 'Man Utd haven't played well'published at 16:27 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester United haven't played well at all. I was expecting a lot more from Rashford and James when they got the ball, but they haven't beaten their men.

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

Fifteen shots on goal but just one on target for Manchester United. They are really labouring now. Frustrations possibly starting to show as they struggle to break down a stubborn Crystal Palace.

Behn Graham: The reason Man Utd won't finish in the top 4 isn't because they are a young side, it's because they have a poor team and even poorer manager.

Jacob Dyer: What's the point in VAR if we are going to let Red Cards and Penalties go but rule out goals because of the smallest offside or flick of the hand? It's not actually correcting the decisions that we all want sorting out.

    Harvey Barnes

    Technique.

If we could swear on this page to describe Harvey Barnes' effort we would.

The sub, who's been on the pitch for six minutes, hits the living daylights out of the ball on the half and almost takes out keeper Dean Henderson.

You must watch that effort on MOTD later.

    Then watch it again.

Femi John Atoyebi: Mourinho was right - ManUtd and Chelsea are not title contenders.

Paul Cunningham: I'm currently more confident of England winning this test than I am of Man Utd beating Crystal Palace.

    Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Chris Waddle

Manchester United just can't get somebody on the ball to create something. Whatever they have tried has just not come off. I can't believe they haven't brought Juan Mata on.

Daniel James is bundled over on the left and Manchester United have a free kick. Ashley Young sends the ball towards the far post but there's a lack of willing runners and it goes behind for a goal kick. Young is furious none of his team-mates attacked that.

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Final Score

How often do you see substitutes coming off the bench not focused, not ready? Moussa Djenepo was ready for Southampton. It is refreshing to see. It tells me that they are all clued into each other, into the manager. The manager saw a weakness and he changed it. They were on the back foot but then their counter attack was spot on.

    Oliver McBurnie

The record signing pays back a little bit of his fee.

Chris Wilder does seem to have a magic touch. He twisted early in the half by bringing on Oliver McBurnie and Billy Sharp, and it's done the trick.

The Scotland striker, signed for club record deal worth up to £20m from Swansea, hangs in the air to send his header past the reach of Kasper Schmeichel.

    Bramall erupts.
