  1. CLOSE!published at 9 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Man City

Good defending initially from Conor Coady. He tracks back to block Kevin de Bruyne's cross and stands him up in the corner.

But the Belgian manages to wriggle half a yard of space and curls a superb ball in towards the far post.

Raheem Sterling is sprinting to try and reach it but it flies inches past his outstretched leg. What a ball!

  2. 'Every game is important now'published at 12:38 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Man Utd 0-0 Inter Milan

Speaking to MUTV before kick-off, Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "You always want to see the possibility of counter-attacks in any football match, but it’s about pressing and getting to Inter as high as we can. Every game is about causing the opposition a problem. Antonio Conte is known for playing with a back three but they have rotated a lot so it will be a great test tactically and physically.

"It’s hot so it’s going to be tough but it’s pre-season and it’s supposed to be hard work so we are ready when we return to Manchester in August. Every game is important for the boys now and there are a few things we want to see tonight."

Rapid start from Man City. Kevin de Bruyne's shot is blocked and it comes out to Bernardo Silva.

He has no other option but to pass it back to Aymeric Laporte and Morgan Gibbs-White is inches away from intercepting. He would have been clear...

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says a few of his players may get 60 or 70 minutes tonight after previously restricting his Manchester United squad to 45 minutes in the first two tour games.

The selection of Axel Tuanzebe in particular is interesting.

Could the 21-year-old provide the answer in central defence United appeared set to spend £70m on Harry Maguire to solve?

Raheem Sterling dances into the box after City won possession back in the final third. He is pushed wide but manages to squeeze a shot in from the left.

I did see a few Inter Milan shirts when I walked round the stadium 90 minutes before kick-off but with the stadium nearly full, I think I can work out who the team with most support is going to be.

    The stadium is virtually red.

Manchester United are definitely the 'home' team for this one.

"We can give them minutes but it is about preparing the team. We are playing in the Europa League so have to take these chances to prepare.

"What is important is the game on Thursday."

Man City manager Pep Guardiola: "Everybody here is in good condition. We are far, far away [from being competitive-match ready]. The physicality comes day by day and week by week.

    FT: Newcastle 1-0 West Ham

Newcastle reserve team coach Ben Dawson speaking to Sky Sports: "We expressed what we expected of the payers. Work rate and intensity is the main thing and we saw elements of that in the performance today.

"A new manager has come in so there's some slots up for grabs. We worked hard in training and that effort has carried into the performance today.

"There were a few tactical judgement that he [Steve Bruce] had made. Obviously, he has not had long. They [the players] will work hard. They have been attentive. They have taken that on the pitch tonight."

  20. 'Bruce has made a massive difference'published at 12:08 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    FT: Newcastle 1-0 West Ham

    Newcastle United

Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, speaking to Sky Sports: "The other day we weren't good enough. Steve [Bruce] has come in and changed the formation and after two days we looked a lot more comfortable. I think we thoroughly deserved to win.

"He came in and told us a few bits in and out of possession. When a new manager comes in training goes up a couple of notches and everyone is busy and looking to impress. Everyone wants to get into his starting XI.

"He has made a massive difference. He is constantly talking to you and that is what you want.

"He is a lot different to Rafa [Benitez]. With Rafa you never knew what he was thinking. His record spoke for itself. He probably didn't need to talk to you. Personally I would rather have someone who talks to you and you know what they are thinking. That is not knocking Rafa. He was a terrific, terrific manager. The club has moved on and everyone needs to move on."
