Burnley manager Sean Dyche on BBC Radio 5 Live: "I feel very happy with the display, not just with the win. It was a very dominant performance from the first whistle to the last.

"We broke their play up early and scored two good goals. We didn’t look in any trouble and a small gripe would be that we should have scored more on the counter."

On Chris Wood's first goals of the season: "There is a lot of competition for places up front here. Ashley Barnes has been among the goals, Chris has probably been a bit unlucky but I'm really pleased for him. His second today was an excellent goal after a great run and finish."

On becoming the fourth longest-serving manager in Burnley’s history: "I’m proud of it and on behalf of my staff too. There have been lots of great managers at this club so I'm delighted to make that list."

Brighton hand a Premier League debut to forward Steven Alzate, who spent last season on loan with Swindon.

They make three changes from the 1-1 draw with Burnley - with Shane Duffy dropping to the bench for the second time this season.

Aaron Mooy makes his first Premier League start for Brighton, while Martin Montoya is back after illness. Solly March and Glenn Murray drop out of the team.

Watford

Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores: It's a very bad day for us. You don't want to receive this. The first minutes were really hard for us.

"We conceded very easy goals and in 15 minutes everything was done. It's not enough for us of course. If you say Manchester City and add mistakes, it's very dangerous.

"Every single goal is coming for different reasons, a cross, a penalty, a quick bit of play, different scenarios. You can't say what the problem is because it was a big problem. It was difficult to stop the scenario.

"We looked a little scared at the start of the match but we will learn a lot. We just need to say sorry for the fans."

Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola: "When you shoot on target five times for five goals - the quality of players we had made the difference. In the first minutes we gave them two chances to score two goals and they didn't.

"What I like the most is normally when it's 5-0 at half time the second half is not serious, it's boring but we did the opposite and we were more aggressive and made a very good second half.

"People still don't understand, journalists, pundits, former players, losing games is part of life. Opponents always deserve respect. The same feeling I have now I had after Norwich so it was not a bad performance. We can lose the games but the important thing is the approach and how we react.

"We are one of the best teams in statistics for having the least shots on target against us. We improved as we could have conceded two but we know the men up front we have have a huge amount of talent.

Asked and then told about Manchester United's record: "I didn't know the record. Who is it? They deserve it, congratulations."

Watford have a new manager, had a good result last week and you would have thought they would have been on a high.

They were pathetic today and should be embarrassed with that performance.

The Watford players have let their club down today. That was absolutely embarrassing. We know how good these Manchester City players are but they didn’t get anywhere near them. They should be having a whip-round in the dressing room right now to pay for their supporters’ travel.

They surrendered after 52 seconds.

To add to Norwich's massive injury problems, goalkeeper Tim Krul was injured in the warm-up today and needed treatment on his back to get through this game. Daniel Farke says he is a doubt for next week now.

Manchester City

Man City hat-trick hero Bernardo Silva, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "We were unbelievable in the first 30 minutes, scored lots of goals and had control. After the Norwich defeat, it was great to give our fans the result and the performance.

"We aimed to keep it going in the second half. We didn't want them to hurt us or score past us.

"Footbal is a hard game - I've won 8-0 today but I've lost plenty of times by five or four goals. You just have to keep going so I wished the Watford players well

On Kevin de Bruyne: Kevin de Bruyne is a fantastic player. Everyone knows how good he is when he is fit. When he is playing like today he is one of the best players in the Premier League.

On what he'll do with his match ball: I'm going to get all the players to sign my ball and then I'll take it home to Portugal and keep it in a special place..

City rarely lose a game but what a response from them today. Watford were woeful but let's not just take away from just how good Manchester City were. Kevin de Bruyne - I cannot explain just how impressive he was today. Bernardo Siva scored a hat-trick and here we are talking about De Bruyne. That's how good he is.

Everton

Everton defender Michael Keane: “We’re very disappointed. We obviously wanted to keep that good run going at home, but we didn’t manage to do that today. We have to turn it around as quickly as possible.

“I thought we controlled the whole game. They defended well – fair play to them. We found it hard to break them down and create chances. We need to keep working hard to rectify it.

“We need to keep clean sheets and be ruthless at the other end. We need to do work at both ends.”

On next Saturday's home game against Man City: “We caused the bigger teams a lot of problems here last year. There’s a bit less pressure in that kind of game, so it might help us in that sense. Hopefully we’ll get some kind of result.”

Norwich City

Norwich boss Daniel Farke: "It was a close game, we had more possession they had a few more shots. We had a good first chance and if we had taken the lead it will change the game.

"Our attitude was reactive, and not proactive and we invited pressure in the first 15 minutes. We were one step too late.

"We have a lot of injuries which is not easy but we should have started more on the front foot. My captain was injured after just a few minutes and that influenced us."

Anthony: The biggest talking point isn't City's goal rout, its Everton's debacle... Marco Silva next in line to get the sack?

Steven Broadbent: Never wanted Silva. Teams know all they need to do is defend deep and get a corner!! When will he learn that Zonal-Marking is the issue? Looks like a mid-table scrap at best this year

Barry, Bournemouth: Silva has to go now. He hasn't got what it takes to be successful in this league. Everton are going backwards and are already in a relegation scrap..

Manchester City

Bernardo Silva speaks following his hat-trick: "It was a great performance, 8-0 says everything. It's very good to get the three points after defeat at Norwich and I'm very happy with my first hat-trick of my career. My first match ball at home.

"All teams have good and bad moments, the way you react to the bad is the most important thing. Once again this team showed we want to fight for the Premier League and all the titles."
