There are a lot of players slipping over and not being able to control the ball. It looks quite messy this game so far.

Joshua Atkins: People slating Arsenal seem to be forgetting that we have 3 first team defenders missing at the moment. Holding, Bellerin and Tierney all add to this squad!

Anukram Adhikary: Will Emery ever learn how consistency in team selection is key to players’ understanding of one another, and how such understanding is key to success? Ozil dropped again. Torreira not starting again. Error prone Guendouzi starts again.

He’s not even in the Arsenal squad list on the back of today’s programme, but number 77 Bukayo Saka starts in a Premier League game for the first time.

There’s a real buzz of excitement at the Emirates about what the 18 year old can bring to this side after a dazzling display in the Europa League during the week.

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

Christian Pulisic has faded into the background a bit. My understanding is that actually he’s a quiet, shy lad and it must be tough to establish yourself, especially when you’ve been brought in to replace one of Chelsea’s best ever players for big money.

I think it’s just taking him time to get established but he is undoubtedly a good player.

  20. 'Any team is beatable'published at 16:25 British Summer Time 22 September 2019

Arsenal v Aston Villa (16:30 BST)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith: "Any team is beatable, we saw that with Norwich's result against Manchester City.

"When you go head-to-head against anybody you've got to have that belief but we know how tough it is at the Emirates.

"We've got great belief in what our players are about and we saw with that trip to Tottenham that we can go toe-to-toe with these teams."
