Also struggling a bit is Ederson, who took one for the team with his save and appears to have hurt his finger.

Yerry Mina is up to meet a corner and he directs his header down towards the bottom corner but there's Ederson again, stretching across to push away the ball.

Riyad Mahrez has been directly involved in 17 goals in his last 17 starts for Manchester City in all competitions (seven goals, 10 assists), including nine in his last seven (four goals, five assists).

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is slipped through on goal and Ederson reacts quickly to charge off his line and deflect the Everton's striker's goalbound effort just wide.

Looking at the replays, Jordan Pickford definitely should have done better. It initially looked like it was beyond his reach but the ball went under his glove. Disappointing after a spirited Everton performance.

It's a good free-kick but Jordan Pickford should have done better. I think he will be disappointed with that. Mahrez curls the ball beautifully but I don't think Everton set up right.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is struggling to keep his composure and gives away another needless free kick. Gylfi Sigurdsson again with the delivery but the ball is just over several of his team-mates' heads.

Everton are giving the reigning champions a real game here.

Raheem Sterling is picked out by a superb Riyad Mahrez through ball and the forward has just the keeper to beat but he compounds to place his effort wide. What a chance.

Morgan Schneiderlin takes Kevin de Bruyne's legs and is rightly shown a yellow card. A booking is not enough to satisfy De Bruyne, though. He is fuming with the Everton midfielder.
