    Rangers 2-1 Hibernian

In response to Sean Mackie's red card, Paul Heckingbottom is taking off goalscorer and attacking midfielder Daryl Horgan, with club captain David Gray coming on at the back.

He'll go to right-back, with Steven Whittaker swapping flanks to take Mackie's place at the left. It's the first appearance of the season for the Hibs skipper, who has just overcome a knee problem.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:14 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    St Mirren 1-0 Aberdeen

Oh, what a chance for Aberdeen, and what a save from Vaclav Hladky!

Lewis Ferguson meets Zak Vyner's curling ball from the right, but Hladky leaps to get his fingertips to it to tip over.

  3. RED CARD Sean Mackiepublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    Rangers 2-1 Hibernian

Hibs' task just got a whole lot harder. Sean Mackie, already on a booking, is shown a second yellow for handball.

  4. Main gets a sight of goalpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    St Mirren 1-0 Aberdeen

Curtis Main had a fairly quiet first half, without a great deal of service from those behind him.

The big striker turns and gets a powerful left-foot shot away from outside the box, but it flies over Vaclav Hladky's crossbar.

Still not a great deal for Aberdeen fans to shout about.

Sam Foley and Ryan Flynn have been really good for St Mirren. Flynn is a converted winger playing a central role and orchestrating things from the middle of the park.

    Quote Message

St Mirren are worthy of the lead after a well-worked goal. Since then they have fallen out of it, but it wouldn't surprise me if Derek McInnes looks to change things as Aberdeen need more threat from their midfield and forward players.

    Quote Message

Aberdeen have showed plenty of movement but haven't really suckered St Mirren into breaking their shape. If they can't do that, it's going to take one of their forward players to get the ball, get their full-back one-v-one and get Curtis Main some service. He's had nothing to feed off.

  13. HALF TIME: St Mirren 1-0 Aberdeenpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

St Mirren have the half-time advantage in Paisley thanks to a superb finish from Turkish winger Ilkay Durmus in the 12th minute. Jim Goodwin and the home fans will be delighted with this scoreline, if perhaps a little concerned by the manner in which Aberdeen have slowly but surely taken control of proceedings.

Despite their dominance, the closest the Dons have come to scoring was through Ryan Hedges' long-range shot. Derek McInnes' men have had plenty of the ball, but precious few clear-cut chances to show for it.

  14. HALF-TIME Rangers 2-1 Hibernianpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

Rangers have been utterly dominant, Jermain Defoe scoring two quick goals to leave them cruising. The former England striker had a good chance for his hat-trick, and Joe Aribo also hit the side netting as the hosts created numerous chances.

Frustratingly though for the home side, Scott Allan's defence-splitting pass gave Daryl Horgan the chance to get Hibs back in it, which the Irishman duly took. So somehow, it's game on.

  16. CLOSE!published at 15:41 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

Yet another chance for Defoe, who fires over from close-range. Can the Englishman bag a hat-trick before the break?

  17. CLOSE!published at 15:37 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    Rangers 2-0 Hibernian

Rangers come incredibly close to bagging a third before the interval as Sheyi Ojo pinches possession in the Hibs half and Joe Aribo fires into the side netting.

Then Jermain Defore bursts into the box but is denied a first-half hat-trick by Ofir Marciano. The Hibs goalkeeper has had to make some fine saves as his side take heavy fire.

  18. 'Dons well below their best'published at 15:32 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    St Mirren 1-0 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

It's been a tough first half for Aberdeen. They haven't hit anywhere near the heights they're capable of but that's down to St Mirren being so well drilled and denying them space.

  19. CLOSE!published at 15:32 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    St Mirren 1-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen are knocking on the door in Paisley but not creating many clear-cut chances as they bid to find a leveller.

Ryan Hedges lets fly from the edge of the box, but his shot is straight into the arms of Vaclav Hladky.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:26 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    Rangers 2-0 Hibernian

James Tavernier's curling free-kick from around 30 yards out is heading for the top corner, but is beaten away by the diving Ofir Marciano.

Sean Mackie, who conceded the free-kick for a foul on Joe Aribo, has become the second Hibs player to be booked.
