Quote MessageIt's brilliant. If the ball is out on the right side, the other winger should get in the box and make himself another striker. It's exactly what Durmus did - he came over from the left with a late run and delivered a super finish.
Jermain Defoe
It's a second for Rangers and for Jermain Defoe as the home side take command of their sodden encounter with Hibernian.
Jordan Jones drives through the Hibs defence, and slides in Sheyi Ojo, who cuts back for Defoe to slot from close range.
Ilkay Durmus
The home side have opened the scoring through a wonderfully placed finish from Ilkay Durmus. The goal started with a strong run down the right flank from Kyle Magennis, who then pulled the back across the penalty area for his colleague to comfortably tap it in to the corner of the net.
Jermain Defoe
Sheyi Ojo's long-range effort is saved by Ofir Marciano, but Jermain Defoe reacts faster than the Hibs defenders to seize on the loose ball and knock it home. Rangers lead at Ibrox.

Quote MessageCurtis Main is a different type of striker to Sam Cosgrove. He's not as tall but more mobile and will be looking for balls down the side. If he does half as well as Cosgrove has in recent months he'll be delighted.
Rangers 0-0 Hibernian
First chance of the game at Ibrox, and it comes the way of the hosts. Jermain Defoe latches onto a lofted ball over the top from Connor Goldson, but out comes Ofir Marciano to smother the ball at the striker's feet.
Here we go, we're under way in Paisley and at Ibrox!
The rain is teeming down in Paisley and Govan as both sets of teams emerge onto the respective playing surfaces. A glorious day of summer fitba' in Scotland...
Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)
Hibernian head coach Paul Heckingbottom: "Rangers are no different to the end of last season, really. They have changed personnel in a few positions but still have a real clear way of playing. They have picked up where they left off and it's brought results for them.
"We have a better balance to our squad this season but remain a work in progress and have to get better."

Thumbs up for the Buddies, thumbs down for the Dandy Dons.

Thumbs up for a Rangers victory, thumbs down for a Hibernian victory, politely sit quietly for a draw...
Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)
Since both found themselves in the second tier five years ago, matches between Rangers and Hibernian have been ferociously contested.
There have been 21 matches since 2014 - and perhaps surprisingly, Hibs have the slightly superior record. They've won nine, Rangers have eight victories, and there have been four draws.
Over the past few years, Hibs fans have grown used to celebrating in Govan. In fact, in the sides' last five meetings in Glasgow, Rangers have only won once - the most recent encounter, a 1-0 victory in May. There was also a 1-1 draw last term, which Hibs snatched courtesy of a late Darren McGregor header.
Neil Lennon led his visitors to two victories at Ibrox in 2017-18, but the most famous and controversial encounter will be cherished by Hibs fans forever and a day. David Gray's thumping header, the mayhem of the pitch invasion, and the 114-year wait for the Scottish Cup ended...
St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)
Scott McKenna remains in Aberdeen's central defence despite handing in a transfer request last week and boss Derek McInnes says: "I never fell out with Scott. He's been through the mill the last few weeks and handled a lot of things admirably. There's disappointment for him but Thursday night he was fantastic. It would be a real blow to have lost him and everyone at Aberdeen should enjoy having him here."
St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes explains the absence of in-form striker Sam Cosgrove: "He reported with a bit of tightness in his hamstring yesterday. I wasn't going to play him anyway, it was an opportunity for Curtis Main. He's been champing at the bit.
"We still wanted Sam to be on the bench, but with the games coming up, we decided to leave him in Aberdeen getting treatment."
On making four changes from the Europa League defeat in Rijeka, McInnes added: "Coming back from an energy-sapping trip to Croatia, you're rushed coming into the next game and we wanted to freshen things up."
Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)
Brandon Barker was a riveting attacking force for Hibernian during his loan spell from Manchester City two seasons ago.
The winger didn't score many goals, but his searing speed and trickery frightened the life out of many a defender, and got Hibs up the park in double-quick time.
He actually had some pretty good games against Rangers, hitting the post twice in a 2-1 loss, and setting up Hibs' equaliser in that bonkers 5-5 draw on the final day of the campaign.
Now, he's a Rangers man, signing a three-year deal this week. But the Ibrox crowd will have to wait for their first glimpse of the 22-year-old - he's not involved today against his former side.
St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)
St Mirren chairman Gordon Scott tells BBC Radio Scotland the club's signing spree may not be over yet. Nine new players have arrived this summer and Scott said: "There is money there to bring another one or two in but they need to be building blocks for next season and now just a loan for six months or a year. If the opportunity arises we'll certainly look at it.
"We were trying to get people in for a couple of years rather than just on loan or one-year contract. It's been a more stringent process this year."
Jim Goodwin is getting to grips with the job in Paisley, and Scott said of previous manager Oran Kearney's surprise departure: "It was disappointing the way it ended but we have moved on. It affected us in terms of preparation this season - we've been on the back foot since then but are catching up rapidly.
"In the League Cup games we weren't at the races at all. The new signings have lifted the whole club. It's just a shame we couldn't get them in earlier."
